Early David Chethlahe Paladin Original Painting Navajo Native American Listed. Very nice original Chethlahe painting, I believe it to be an early piece. Sand, paint, and turquoise inlay on board. Early 19th century American folk art oil painting doctor possibly Ammi Phillips
Early American 19th century oil painting of a physician possibly by Ammi Phillips who was an itinerant painter in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. This was an estate find and is of a man who is pointing to a book that says Ippocrates on the spine which is the Italian spelling of Hippocrates, symbolizes a medical figure. Background is a pearly gray. Flesh tones are austere. Canvas has been restretched at an earlier date but is tight. Background of painting shows a number of repair patches, front shows some over painting in the location of the patches. The gold toned frame is 23 x 31 x 1 1/2 and appears to be period and original to the painting. The painting has been waxed. There are two small black dots and some crazing/craqueture but no peeling. Items are described to the best of my knowledge. I often do not know the history of the painting or how it was stored. Please note paintings and frames may have some natural evidence of aging such as small spots and small cracks. I describe all paintings to the best of my ability. This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”. The seller is “kandsmuck” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.

This delightfully naive glimpse of Early American life is painted in oil on paper glued down to a wooden (single board) panel with old mustard paint on the back. Housed in its original lemon gold frame (old surface with many touch-ups), it measures a most impressive 27″ x 32 1/2″ framed; 22″ x 27″ actual and is rich with meticulously drawn and painted details. Reminiscent of the works of Joseph H. In the Bigelow Blue Stone Works located nearby. The painting shows considerable age-toning and staining with areas of slightly raised/wrinkled paper showing lines of loss and paper losses in both lower corners and right edge. The surface is stable and the colors come across nicely despite some loss of contrast with the background. The fragile label is under protective plexiglas. Early American Primitive Folk Art Watercolor Painting Hudson River Fort Signed
Intriguing large antique 19th century (c1850s) original early American watercolor painting. Depicts a brilliant eye catching landscape scene complete with river, dirt path, figures, foliage and fort in the distance. My first thought was that this was a view of West Point from the Hudson River but it will require some further research. Medium is watercolor on period rag paper done in a primitive folk art style. Well done with impressive detail and use of color. The style of leaves in the tree is commonly associated with the early American style of painting leaves. Great capture of light. Period iron gall ink inscription with measurements on verso as well as a period pencil inscription which I can only partially make out. Wolfe Chief seat of the ___cals (see photos 12). Signed by the artist Jane Shaw in the bottom right corner. Quite worthy of further research. Loosely mounted to rigid paper board backing and ready to frame. In Very Good overall condition. Clean and crisp with only gentle toning and corner wear. No holes, rips or tears. Guaranteed a genuine mid 19th century early American watercolor painting. Measures 23″ x 17″. Please enjoy the photos for further item details and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you and be sure to check out our other listings! This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk! AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART 1800’s BITTERSWEET BLUE PAINT PRIMITIVE DRY SINK SQUARE NAILS WITH LINER. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink. 48.25 w x 17.75 d x 37 h. It’s a nice sized two door cabinet with a shelf inside. It has outstanding bittersweet and blue colors on the outside. Even more-so, it’s a wonderful dry, soft buttercream / yellow color inside, including the shelf. Please see photos for the best description and accuracy. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! There are also some cracks in the wood from age. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! It’s an old dry sink and inside the top part there is the liner as you can see, very cool. The doors open and the left door has a metal latch and loop to hold it shut. Then when the right door closes, it latches with a little spring latch that has a cool old knob / turn also. You could leave the doors open and display crocks, or firkins or other wonderful items. The hinges are little rusty Shaker style hinges as you can see in the pictures. There are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. Many of them are square nails, especially on the front. Some are rusty and round while others are gnarly and rusty like roseheads. On the sides there are boot jacks that are whale tails. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variations of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. This is a great dry sink! Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail and ask lots of questions if needed. We regularly put up new items so check out our other items.
