ORIGINAL 1991 CATE MANDIGO’RITA THE DOG’ OIL PAINTING. This is just a great original piece. I was lucky enough to acquire an incredible collection of original Cate Mandigo oil paintings from a collector in Pennsylvania. I have seen some of her paintings in the past and always thought they were excellent works of 20th Century Folk Art. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included her biography below. This is a wonderful original miniature oil on masonite of an adorable Dalmation dog. Painting measures 3 x 4 inches. Signed and dated lower right and titled lower lower left. Outstanding as painted condition. Original frame is complimentary and ready to hang. Frame measures 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. For those not familiar with the artist her biography from various articles reads: Mandigo has for decades been a mainstay of the art scene in the Adirondacks. Her American primitive folk-art paintings have been collected by art enthusiasts across the nation as well as overseas. She’s won major national awards for her work, and she’s been invited four times to paint artwork to be displayed in the White House.
