Extremely Rare Authentic Shaker Dipper. I only know of five carved and painted dippers in existence. And the 5th one is offered here. This is an exceptional community piece and original in every way! The very finely turned bowl and short handle retain most of the original oyster white painted finish. The paint is worn in all the right places. It comes with the original tag and receipt. I stand behind every sale. If youre not 100% happy, please contact me. A few words of caution on SHAKER. About 95% of all items I see being offered as Shaker are not Shaker. Items described as Shaker style, Shaker like, or vintage Shaker, outright fakes, or. Antiques that may be nice, but they are not Shaker. The majority in this group are. Offered as Shaker because the sellers believe them to be and are not trying to deceive. I have been a Shaker scholar for over 38 years and I still have to look twice sometimes. The very least, use your common sense. Real SHAKER artifacts are both- beautiful and smart investments. The so called Harvard Shaker boxes are not Shaker one finger points in one direction. And the other finger or swallowtail, points in the opposite direction I see them being. Offered as Shaker all the time. Although some of them are beautiful in their own right. They are not Shaker made. There is no documented scholarly research that the Shakers. You will not find them classified as Shaker in important collections or. Authentic Early 20thC ENGLISH PUB SIGN Sand Painted Folk Art BENSKINS COW ROAST. From an extensive collection upstate, NY. Fantastic original early 20thC English Pub Sign, possibly from the Cow Roast Inn. Painted for Benskins Beer as well. Wonderful hand painted graphic of a hand turning a spit with a cow roasting over an open fire. Is sand painted / has a sand texture similar to other of that era. Solid cast iron frame with several layers of paint. I have no idea how this got to upstate, NY. Quite a fascinating piece. Sign (framed) measures approximately. 30.25″ by 37 7/8″. The loops for hanging at top extend another 1.75. As you can see, the sign has a split in the board and some significant loss to one side. Paint wear commensurate with age.
