Antique Oil Painting Ship Nautical Early 1900s Folk Art Signed On Wood Board

Its flying an US flag. Painting is on a thin wood board. Signed in the upper right corner. Looks to date from the first part of the 20th century. Maybe 1930s or so. Neat piece of folk art. I recently found this near Erie PA. Frame is just under 16 inches wide and about 12 and 3/8 inches tall. See can for scale. Has a wire on the back and is ready to hang on a wall. Some wear, mostly age related. Frame is painted and has some paint loss. Taped on the back. See photos and video.

Early 1900’s Folk Art Hand Carved Hand Painted Guinea Bird

Offering this wonderful and unusual small hand carved and hand painted guinea bird dating from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Guinea birds are very rarely the subject of carvers, who most often carve song bird, water birds and prey birds, making this quite an unusual and delightful find! This is skillfully and realistically carved and painted down to the most minute detail. It stands just 5″ tall and about 4″ from beak to tail. It shows some minor wear to the wood legs (see photos) and light wear to the paint finish, some minor flaking of the paint revealing the wood underneath. For its age, it’s in great condition and displays well. Obviously from a talented artist, it is unmarked. This was found in Southern Pennsylvania and I believe it to be a local piece. Antique 1900’s Folk / Tramp Art Wood Picture Frame Photo German Letter Stencils

Features wood cut letters of the German word’Erinnerung’ at top, meaning memory, and the date 1904 at bottom. Shallowest portion of frame has a reddish brown fabric accent. Frame has 6 or 7 layers, and measures 1 1/2 thick overall. There is no damage aside from some staining to fabric layer. All from a private collection that belonged to a single owner.
