1920s Antique Vtg Folk Art Deco Lady Reverse Foil Painting, Gesso Wood Frame

Get Vendio Gallery – Now FREE! This wonderful painting is a folk art piece, dating to the 1920’s, in a much older Victorian gesso over wood frame. The painting is what is called a reverse painting – the painting is directly onto the back of the glass. The painting features a wonderful Art Deco lady surrounded by a black background, with butterflies. The details are picked out in crushed colored foil, giving the painting the most wonderful shine and gorgeous details. The piece is unsigned, and is in overall excellent condition. The frame has been repainted from it’s original color to a copper color, probably at the same time the painting was done. It is a really unusual and gorgeous piece of Art Deco folk art. The overall size, frame edge to frame edge, measures 14″ by 17″. The frame has a wooden back, that has been reinforced with tape. The inside picture size is 9 1/2″ by 11 1/2″. 1920’s Era Wood Hand Made & Painted Covered Wagon Primitive Folk Art. This Folk Art Piece was originally made sometime during the 1920’s, it was made by a friend of the family for the original owners grandfather for when he was a child. This piece was expertly crafted as you can tell especially with the animals and the the driver. There is some paint loss and the mans hat front is cracked. This piece is all wood except the canvas cover on the wagon the mans hat and the animals ears & tail these are made of leather. 1920s White Perfection Oil Heater Folk Art Painted

A very pretty vintage 1920s Perfection heater. It has been heavily painted with folk art designs, making this an adorable display piece to add a touch of cozy charm to any room. It is for display only. It is screwed together and painted over so unsure if any heater parts remain inside. It is not intended to be used as a heater. The vents have been papered over from the inside. The plexiglass piece in the front window has some light cracking. Could be easily replaced. Has a handle on top to easily move it from place to place. Measures: 24 inches tall (without handle) x 12 inches wide. Many times it was a baby dressed in real lace in a real blanket. Sometimes real hair was used, along with all sorts of lace and ribbon. This picture features a really charming little girl, dressed in a gorgeous dress made from feed sack material, embellished with ribbon and lace. She has a new back – a dark gold mat. She is under glass in a wood frame that has darkened with age. The picture is in excellent condition – bright and clean, with no damage. The blanket has blue silk trim attached with a blanket stitch, and little blue silk rosettes. The picture is under glass, in a wood frame. The little buttons have caused a slight bit of discoloration to the blue satin, and the picture has faded a bit over time, while the wood of the frame has darkened. It is a gorgeous piece of folk art, The paper back is worn, and started to come loose. There is a bit of blanket showing through on the edges. The picture is large, measuring 12 1/2″ by 16 3/4″. This antique barbershop advertising piece is about 50 open, 29 ½ closed and 3 ½ high. Made of wood with an early painted surface, it has the phrase YOUR NEXT on both sides. Overall condition is good with expected signs of age: the wood blade is chipped along the edges (note the chip at the fold end), wear to the paint, and a partial open seam at the end of the handle (see photo). It is sturdy and ready to display. Please look at the photographs as they are considered part of the description. I guarantee it to be old and as described.
