19th Century Watercolor Painting Primitive Folk Art Amish Man with Sticks & Dog. Pleased to offer a 19th century watercolor on paper with great subject matter and colors. Man with his dog in rural work clothes carrying a bundle of sticks accompanied by his dog. Beautiful large old Birch tree near by. Perhaps he was gathering his sticks from the tree. In the background there is a home with a small pond nearby and other men wearing Amish hats. Wonderful colors and warm sepia and red, black tones to this painting. Frame measures a large 21 3/4 inches height and 17 1/4 inch width. Condition overall is good. But it does have some age-related wear and losses. Painting has a tear on upper right but seems stable. A spot on upper left. Frame shows wear and some loss on corners. The paper on the back has tears. At the top you can see an old wood backing in place. Please view all the photos.
