Great oversized folk art figural trade sign display piece. The 26″ long wood brush has a turned spindle shaft and a carved 3″ wide brush head. The brush dates from 1940-50s. The shadow box mounting is half of a 19th century home made pine fiddle case. SIZE: 28″ x 10″ and 7″ x 3″ deep. CONDITION: Expected aging and wear with outstanding untouched surface patina on all. Aafa Antique Folk Art Advertising Trade Sign Lone Star Dog Food Original Paint

AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART ADVERTISING TRADE SIGN LONE STAR DOG FOOD ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old painted metal sign. The Lone Star Dog Food Company is still in business today and started manufacturing dog food out of Texas since 1930 so obviously this sign dates between now and then. It’s old, is has tons of patina on it, as well as surface rust. This sign is a large painted metal sign. It’s red white and blue with a little yellow behind the words “dog food” in the middle. On the back of the sign there are some repairs and newer screws. On the right end (looking at the back) it’s missing one of the vertical pieces of wood. There are also a couple of newer eye hooks to hang the sign up by. This sign measures 120″ L and 18″ H. This is a great sign! It has have some smudges, marks, scratches, nicks, old paint, crackled paint, rusty paint, rust, edge-wear, paint loss. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. Nwtransport at a o l. Vintage Folk Art Handcarved/Painted Wooden Decoy Fish Advertising Trade Sign. This is for a fantastic vintage folk art hand carved & hand painted wooden fish. Has terrific hand painted detailing along with a great carved out “GONE FISHING” on one side only. Does have hanging eye hooks installed on top side of fish. It measures approximately 19 3/4 inches length by 5 3/4 inches height by 1 1/2 inches thick. It has wonderful folk art appeal. It is in great vintage condition. Does have one sliver of wood missing on rear fin on one side. Doesn’t show from opposite side. Great decor for trophy room, man cave, camp, cottage & avid fisherman. Original and authentic circa 1930s-40s hand painted, folky Art Deco wooden trade sign with a lady’s head. Both sides show significant wear which is also part of the aesthetic appeal. There is overall cracquelure in the paint and one side has loss on the woman’s head. There looks like a little bit of touch up to the black only, just in a few letters. The wood is plywood and the lettering is copied from a common porcelain beauty parlor sign that does not have a lady’s head or any other image. One of a kind and totally unique. This is a wonderful piece of Folk Art or painted art from a roadside stand in Indiana. This ear of corn is hand painted on an old wooden ironing board and was hung on a wall as a trade sign for a corn farm stand. This is a unique one of a kind piece of art. The sign dates from somewhere in the early to mid 20th century and is in wonderful condition. The surface shows some age and the mounting holes show very wear which indicates that the sign would have been taken down in the off season. The ear of corn is 53 7/8″ tall x 15″ wide and could be hung both vertically or horizontally. Like us on face book.
