AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART ADVERTISING TRADE SIGN LONE STAR DOG FOOD ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old painted metal sign. The Lone Star Dog Food Company is still in business today and started manufacturing dog food out of Texas since 1930 so obviously this sign dates between now and then. It’s old, is has tons of patina on it, as well as surface rust. This sign is a large painted metal sign. It’s red white and blue with a little yellow behind the words “dog food” in the middle. On the back of the sign there are some repairs and newer screws. On the right end (looking at the back) it’s missing one of the vertical pieces of wood. There are also a couple of newer eye hooks to hang the sign up by. This sign measures 120″ L and 18″ H. This is a great sign! It has have some smudges, marks, scratches, nicks, old paint, crackled paint, rusty paint, rust, edge-wear, paint loss. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. Nwtransport at a o l. Vintage Folk Art Handcarved/Painted Wooden Decoy Fish Advertising Trade Sign. This is for a fantastic vintage folk art hand carved & hand painted wooden fish. Has terrific hand painted detailing along with a great carved out “GONE FISHING” on one side only. Does have hanging eye hooks installed on top side of fish. It measures approximately 19 3/4 inches length by 5 3/4 inches height by 1 1/2 inches thick. It has wonderful folk art appeal. It is in great vintage condition. Does have one sliver of wood missing on rear fin on one side. Doesn’t show from opposite side. Great decor for trophy room, man cave, camp, cottage & avid fisherman. CAFE FIGARO ANTIQUE AAFA WOODEN PAINTED ADVERTISING TRADE SIGN SAN FRANCISCO? Up for sale is this wonderful old painted sign. We don’t know the age of this sign but it looks old to us, you make the call. It’s painted and has an old white / oyster white background with red letters. It’s a wood sign and the top part (possibly all of it) appears to be plywood. It’s worn and faded in places, and a little dirty around the edges perhaps, but it has a great look to it and a wonderful old look. It’s double sided and the back side is about the same except that it also has a wire to hang the sign up by. 19.75 inches wide by 17 inches high by 1.75 inches deep at the trim and 3/4 inches deep at the main sign. It’s a great sign! It has some fading, crackling paint, edge-wear, paint loss, wood missing, paint chips. ANTIQUE DENTAL ADVERTISING WOOD FOLK ART TRADE SIGN JONES MURPHY FLYNN. Up for sale is this old advertising trade sign. Jones Murphy and Flynn. All Major Fairs Visited Yearly. Safe, Sure and Painless. We don’t know the age of this sign, or its origin. It’s interesting to say the least! It has a bead board back that’s aged and very dark brown / black. It has a little metal hook up at the top in the middle. The front of the sign is brown with yellow letters and red shadowing. There’s a man holding a pair of pliers in his hand with a green top coat and a black top hat. The man is raised off the sign and is three-dimensional. The edge of the sign has edgewear, paint loss, chunks of paint missing and other issues. It measures 36 inches high by 24 3/4 inches wide at the bottom and approximately 2 1/4 inches thick. This antique barbershop advertising piece is about 50 open, 29 ½ closed and 3 ½ high. Made of wood with an early painted surface, it has the phrase YOUR NEXT on both sides. Overall condition is good with expected signs of age: the wood blade is chipped along the edges (note the chip at the fold end), wear to the paint, and a partial open seam at the end of the handle (see photo).
