9 1/2 Old Wooden Sugar Bucket/Barrel/Firkin Green Paint-Pantry Box Primitive
The firkin is old, the paint is NOT, but has an aged appearance. It measures 9 1/2″ tall, 9 1/2″ across the lid, and 10 1/4 across the bottom. The handle moves tightly against the lid. It is in solid condition and ready to display with your primitives. Only the 9 1/2 green firkin is for sale. I will gladly provide additional pictures to you upon request. Wonderful early piece with wonderful form and great surface. Paint has been touched up but touch ups appear old. No idea of context, but a wonderful carved fragment with a great look. Antique Still Life Folk Art Painting Game Bird Hare Wooden Cupboard Door Panels
Striking pair of 19th C trompe l’oeil or still life folk art paintings depicting game birds and a hare or rabbit. This pair of paintings were done on early solid wood beveled panel cabinet doors that measure 16″ x 24.5″ x 7/8. Written in pencil at a later time frame by I assume was a previous owner: Origin Unknown and a name that may say Alice Gabbe? Noted scratches on and near the hare; possible that wood oil or similar might minimize this a little. Light scuffs otherwise to door edges, and detailing may be needed to backs. Shrinkage cracks(stable) on back side edges. See photos, both sides shown and closeups.

The colors are incredibly bright and vibrant and the picture just jumps off the wall. The picture as framed measures 13″ x 17″ x 2 and is oil on canvas, a modern frame was added at some point. The painting is in excellent condition with absolutely no damage, other than some light micro cracks in the top layer of paint in a few areas, consistent with the age of the piece.
