Vintage original watercolor painting dating to 1985, on cold pressed watercolor paper, with the paper maker’s watermark of J. Paper is cotton, handmade. Painting is full plate, untrimmed, and is complete as artist signed on back and that is the artist’s long hand writing. Condition is very good with NO holes, NO odors, NO repairs. The back has some slight soiling is not considered ” clean ” per say. The front is clean, When held up to a bright light, there is NO damage. Overall size is approximately 11 inches by 15 inches, including blank margins.. One edge is deckled. The artist is F. Gesley, which is definitely signature of artist. The painting is from an estate in Creswell Oregon. I wrote the artist’s name and provenance on back. Beyond that, I have NO other information. Gorgeous primitive scene of a lovely marsh lake on a blue sky summer day with a man and woman fishing in their green wooden boat. Condition is good and clean on front for the age, with slight wear in some small places on edges, MODERATE bowing. Paintings is NOT warped, but is SERIOUSLY BOWED. I cannot say whether a frame shall or shall not straighten out the painting, if simply place in one. A professional framer can straighten out this painting in a frame, if you so choose. Overall size is 16 inches by 20 inches. Artist is Ann Cusick of Rhode Island. Provenance of the scene is this is Cumberland, Rhode Island. I also wrote provenance on back. Cumberland Rhode Island was settled originally as part of Rehoboth, MA. The property was eventually transferred to Rhode Island and named in honor of Prince William, Duke of Cumberland. The painting is beautifully done as you can see from the pictures. Not sure of the date but it appears to be set in an art deco frame so probably from the 50s or the 60s. It is not sign but someone took a lot of time to paint this gorgeous piece. The painting is self measures approximately 24″ x 38″ It is framed out to six 30″ x 44″and is ready to hang on the wall.
