Up for sale 2020 American Folk Art Rural Landscaoe Painting. Landscape of Blue Ridge Mountains with Farm houses on foreground. Artwork is framed to antique vintage classic style frame. Frame has some tear and wear from age. Outside frame dimensions approximate 17×21″ by 3/4″ deep. Painting size 14×18 on Prepaired primed and Gesso Wood board. Woodboard was primed for archival protection from both sides, front and verso. Descriptional label with title and other info attached on rear. Q uiet and spiritual in nature, Legge is a passionate and prolific art-maker, a painter and a found-object sculptor. He is inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the North Georgia mountains where his studio and home are located. He did not feel compelled to pursue an art education, preferring to follow his own creative flame. Eric attended Valdosta State University, earning degrees in anthropology and philosophy, paying for school by working in a program for special needs people who inspired him in the way they lived in the moment. Legge’s art is included in the permanent collections of Atlanta’s High Museum of Art, the Hurn Museum in Florence, Italy, and the Small Museum of Folk Art. And many private collections. The painting is beautifully done as you can see from the pictures. Not sure of the date but it appears to be set in an art deco frame so probably from the 50s or the 60s. It is not sign but someone took a lot of time to paint this gorgeous piece. The painting is self measures approximately 24″ x 38″ It is framed out to six 30″ x 44″and is ready to hang on the wall.
