Beautiful Small Antique Paint Decorated Dome Top Document Box Folk Art

Paint decorated miniature dome top trunk or document box. This is a really nice box! The box retains its original lock plate and hinges but the hasp has been replaced. It is lined with old wallpaper. It is constructed with very light, thin pine and a combination of old and some newer nails. The decoration is a later (newer) artisan addition but looks as old as the box. There is a repaired crack in the top securely glued. It measures 10″ long x 5-1/2″ tall x 5-1/2 deep (front to back). New England Pine Paint Decorated Slide Lid Box or Trinket Document Box Folk Art

The pictures do not do justice to this box. The background color is a beautiful Shaker Blue with mustard banding and star decorations in mustard with red highlights. The box is constructed of antique vintage pine and early nails. The paint decoration is a newer addition. It measures 6-1/2″ long x 2-1/4″ tall x 3-1/8 wide. Miniature paint decorated chest with a cut-out bracket base and red and yellow swag and tassel decoration. This box reminds me of painted tinware. The box is a reconstruction made from vintage oxidized pine. The black base paint is original and the paint decoration is a newer addition. It has brass hinges and bumps and bruises and wear. Small paint decorated document or trinket box. A nice size on this little box and grungy surface too. The box features olive banding on the top and front panels with two folk art colonial houses within the front panel banding. This miniature box measures: 9″ x 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2. The box is not that old and someone has added a bunch of small brads to the corners and to stabilize a crack on the back side. The paint is recent as well but the surface is awesome. Beautiful little paint decorated miniature blanket chest or document box. The paint decoration is similar to one found in New York State. The box features a unique painted pattern on the front and sides in shades of salmon, red, green and yellow. It has wire hinges, a till inside, a nice base molding and delicately turned legs. This is a quality reconstruction made from old vintage poplar and pine. The back is unpainted. There is damage to the inside back edge of the top. (See photo) The dimensions are: 9-3/4″ wide x 5-1/4″ tall x 3-1/2 deep (front to back). There are scrapes and small dents. This is a very nice miniature chest.
