Description: A nice framed Folk Art reverse painted on glass of a young girl standing with doll in hand. This reverse painted piece by David W. Gottshall of Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania is signed and dated lower left corner. The scene shows a young girl in a long blue dress and red shoes. The girl has black hair and she is holding a doll in one hand with another toy with a red balloon attached to it in the other. There is a brown cat above her, green leaves all around, and red tulips below her and just next to the doll. There is also a blue bird by her left foot. The painting is on turquoise background and is framed in a brown painted wood frame. The piece has a brown cardboard backing and a wire extending across to hang from. A colorful painting all done in reverse on glass. It is in great condition ready to hang on your wall. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Up for sale is a fantastic vintage folk art painting depicting a young girl in a wonderful ornate red dress with extensive white lace. With on arm held out a little yellow bird sits upon her finger while a small white dog sits on the floor low right. The arching gold bird cage rests off the the right showing a red parrot inside. The small girl shows a lovely painted face with rosy cheeks and a nice cool blue ribbon in her hair in contrast to her warm dress. This work is illegibly signed in the low left corner in red and resembles the work of Mexican artist Agapito Labios. Executed in oil on canvas measures 23.75 x 18 inches its vintage wood frame measures 27.25 x 21.5 inches. The condition of this well executed folk art painting shows craquelure, minor loss and a small tear fortunately just left of the girls head.
