C1840 Beautiful Federal American Sully Gilded Antique Portrait Folk 9 x 11 Frame

A beautiful c1840 American Sully style gilded frame. Excellent original gilded surface on 2 1/2 wide molding with fantastic patina. Typical flat, canted molding with rounded top edge and stepped site edge. This is a thick, solid frame with square nailed, mitered corners and ochre painted sides. Ame is in fantastic condition with only minor wear and me. Asures 13 1/8 x 15 1/2 with a 9 1/8 x 11 1/2 rabbet (cut down from larger size at some point). ANTIQUE 19th CENTURY AMERICAN FEDERAL CHEST WITH FOLK ART PAINT DECORATION ; A LARGE AMERICAN PINE CHEST OF DRAWERS CIRCA 1825 WITH A WILD FOLK ART PAINTED SURFACE THAT WAS PROBABLY DONE IN THE 1960’s OR 1970’s. PROBABLY INSPIRED BY SOME MUSEUM FOLK ART CHEST. PLEASE LOOK AT PICS CAREFULLY FOR DAMAGE. THE CASE IS IN GOOD CONDITION, BUT I BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE TRIED TO DISTRESS THE DRAWER FRONTS AS THEY HAVE MORE WEAR THAN FROM NORMAL USE. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CHEST HAS A SPLIT IN THE TWO BOARDS ALONG THE GLUE JOINT. THERE IS A LARGE CHUNK MISSING FROM THE TOP AS SEEN IN THE PICS. ALL DRAWERS ARE DOVETAILED CONSTRUCTION AND EARLY SQUARE NAILS. 46″ WIDE, 45″ HIGH, 18 DEEP ; AS FOUND CONDITION QUESTIONS? Antique FEDERAL GENTLEMAN Folk Oil Portrait Painting GOLD Gilt Frame c1830-40s

Here is a very nice antique gentleman oil portrait painting. It is framed in its original gilt gold , heavy compo/gesso frame. The man has a Napoleon style hair cut and a dark blue jacket on. His inner vest is a light blue and his. The entire piece measures 18 1/4 x 20 1/4 in. The canvas only measures 12 1/8 x 13 7/8 in. Fair/good as is vintage condition. Some gilt paint overlay chipped/worn off in spots. Painting has mild crazing, nail hole thru top right, and bottom right. I say all this but the item dates to the 1830-40s so almost 200 years old soon. Not new, not perfect. The man is painted in a folk art style. All pictures to judge condition.
