Charming oil painting from a Private collection of paintings recently found near Caen in Northern France. The work is indistinctly signed lower right reading something like E. Size- 10.75 by 16.75 inches approx (275 x 425 mm) including frame, canvas 7 by 13 inches approx. Medium- Oils on canvas Frame- Original wooden frame, some knocks and old repairs, offered free with the painting. Condition- Generally pretty good though with some browning and the odd mark in places. Small canvas indent to the centre. The frame having a 4 layer notch carving pattern along the moldings with each corner having a pyramid or heart pattern. The surface having an old dark antique gold surface. Antique Homemade Folk Art Toy Train Steam Engine Wood, Iron, Old Paint c1900. This is an old homemade wood and iron toy train steam engine dating, I would guess, to the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is roughly 12 inches long, 6 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. The boiler is a solid wood cylinder. The cow catcher looks hand carved. The cab has front-facing corner windows for the engineer to look out. The paint is old and flaking in some places. The engine is in good as found condition. C1900 Outstanding PAINTED TRAMP ART ADIRONDACK Primitive Folk Art Antique Frame

This is a great late 19th century / early 20th century painted tramp art frame. It appears as though this is painted black over a forest green base but its really hard to tell because some of the lighter green highlights appear on the surface….. Either way this frame generally appears as black / dark, dark green and has a great, dry, early surface. The frame is in excellent condition with minor wear and measures 14 1/2 x 16 3/4 with an 11 1/2 x 13 1/2 rabbet. Nice painted tramp art frame.
