Italian Country small Goat Cart this antique Folk Art carved and painted with side panels is in original condition. The cart only measures 22-1/2 long, not including the one stick Runner left. (other side is broken off and gone);17 wide wheel base to wheel base. And the overall height including the turned side posts is a little over 12. This 19th century Folk Art Panel has a carved wood border depicting a historical times, all the iron is hand forged. The four Folk Art Paintings are unusual. The Folk Art paint you see on this 19. Century Goat Cart side is original and the hooks, bolts, and nuts. It does have some damage ; no wheels, missing one side runner, and the back tailgate. See photos for complete conditions. Antique 19thC LOCKSMITH TRADE SIGN IRON PAINT AAFA Folk Art/ Sculpture/ Wrought. 19th or early 20th century, handmade iron locksmith trade sign in old surface with paint loss and abrasions. It originally hung as shown in the first pic, the two tabs were probably pierced for a chain hanger but they broke off long ago (see pic 10). The tip of the key is hollow, brilliantly designed like a box lock (some bits rattling inside as well as a hole on both sides/ see pics). It’s approx 27.5 long and a super piece of folk art. Antique 19thC FOLK ART BOX BLACK PAINT AAFA Document/ Pantry/ Candle/ Primitive. Folky mid 19th century homemade box in dry black paint. Applied wood strips continue on all walls of the box as well as rondelle and conical brass tack decoration. Strike plate removed at some point, likely when the key was lost (see pic 18). Some errant paint on lid in red and green, looks period and may be a clue to what the box was used for dried sealing wax? Back edge of lid broke off long ago. I’m not one who believes damage “adds character” in all cases but at least its old loss that had time to patinate and is not glaring (see pic 7). Great condition over all with scattered paint loss, surface wear. Approx 10.75″L x 6.75″W x 5 tall. See pics for additional details and any questions please ask. The entire piece appears to be carved from a single piece of wood, if you can believe it. Folky “bat wing” scrollwork. There is a large but very good professional restoration to one of the feet (see pics 19,20,21) as well as wear and (old) loss to corners, abrasians, paint loss, etc. There is an eye hook in the top edge for hanging (beautiful wall art object).
