This is an antique back bone / vertebrae that is from a horse or cow. It has been hand painted to look like the priest John Wesley. The paintwork on the face is very finely done. Naive folk art which are very collectable today… These were made to make fun of Methodist leader John Wesley and his new evangelical religion of the period. No maker’s marks etc. It is in collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. The paintwork is dirty and chipped in places, mostly on the very edges and corners where the bone is visible. Please see pictures for more details. 5 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches in depth. Antique 18thC Miniature Folk Art Watercolor Portrait Painting of Emily Henshaw

Measuring only 4 ¼ by 6 this miniature Watercolor Painting depicts a Georgian (1714 – 1830) young lady, sitting with hands folded. Amazingly, on the back is a family tree and the young ladys name is Emily Hay Henshaw (There is a Henshaw in the book The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy). Unsigned, this authentic, 18th century painting comes under glass in an old frame measuring approx 6 ¾ by 8 1/4. As you can see in the photographs, there is a light rubs to the surface of the painting (only in background), frame also has some wear as shown, but this antique Miniature Watercolor still displays well. Antique 18th century carved wood (very possibly mahogany) Santos figure, approximately 11-3/4 tall. Besides typical wear and damage from age, other notable damage is left-hand tip of thumb is chipped, and the right hand has seen damage and repair. The two raised fingers have broken off and been reattached, and the thumb has broken off and been lost to history (those are very delicate areas of the figure). Hands are separate pieces and both come out of the arms (may need a couple drops of glue to permanently attach).
