ANTIQUE FOLK ART DOLL / BIRD HOUSE ARCHITECTURAL MODEL WOOD OOAK ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old antique Primitive architectural building / model or doll house. This is a single-story house with a gable roof. The roof does not come off. It has a wood exterior with yellow paint, green trim, columns and porch and a black shingle roof. The paint is all old and worn as you can see in the pictures. The house measures 18″ L x 17″ W with the porch x 18 H with the chimney. The base measures 27.5″ L x 25.5″ W x 2.25 H. There are two windows on the front under the porch and one little window in the dormer. There are also two windows on right side of the house and two on the left side of the house. On the back there are two also. The windows are simple, Primitive, Craftsman-style windows with green frames. The back of the house has a little porch on it also. As you can see in the pictures. When you look inside you can see that the house is unfinished inside. But there is a knob with a little metal thing inside with two wires attached to it. We don’t know what this would have been used for, perhaps a train set? Inside the house its all open. The house does have edgewear, scrapes, chips, crackle, alligatoring, nicks, scuffs and chips! Sprinkling Sambo Yard Art Folk Art All Original Black Americana Painted Metal From the very top of the item to the lowest point where it pokes in the ground is about 33.5 inches. From his left shoulder to where the hose extends out is about 23.5 inches. There is damage to the paint on his right eye extending past his ear to the brim of his hat as shown. There is pint wear on the reverse area near that hat brim as shown. Piece has some weight to it and is very well made and sturdy. I plugged this whimsical piece to the hose and sure enough “Sprinklin Sambo” works fantastic with no leaks whatsoever , a nice fluid tight stream of water running through the hose and dispersed in a 5 light stream pattern like a flower. This item IS ALL original down to the hoses and again is very well made. Notable areas of where to piece are again wear to the front paint of the face and the reverse back brim area of the hat as shown. Gaskets, hose, everything here top to bottom has that very old 1940s? All rivets and construction on here is great and there are NO STRUCTURAL ISSUES….. NO SUPRISES when you open up the box to wellcome this charming fellow from days gone by into your home. Lastly , because I took him outside to test him out he is a little dirty. Item will be considered in good vintage condition… Far better than many other similar pieces. This offering is for an antique circa 1930’s to 40’s folk art hand painted sign. The sign reads COUNTY RECORDER on one side only and it appears to have been connected to a post at some point. The length is app. 16″ long and 12″ high. The sign is made of heavy metal which I think is probably sheet iron. The condition is excellent as seen in our photo’s with no bends, breaks, dents or repairs. The painted surfaces have minor losses as should be expected but nothing severe.
