The frames measure 5″ x 4 3/8″. They have convex glass and are stamped 32 on the back. The sight size of the 2 paintings is 3″ x 2 1/4″. They look to be watercolor or gauche. Vtg Miniature Folk Art Painting Leather Tigua Ecuador Signed Gustavo Quindigalle

A vintage, miniature painting signed by Gustavo C Quindigalle! Others I’ve seen note that Gustavo is from Ecuador, and is a Tigua artist, although I couldn’t find any definite info on him. The painting looks to be on leather; I’ve seen others specified as lamb’s skin, but not certain! The painting is very detailed, and especially so considering the size of it! Depicts two farmers with some alpacas? In a field of tall grass and flowering plants and there’s a mountain/volcano in the background with lots of birds flying about. The wooden frame that the leather is stretched over isn’t completely straight, so if you lay the art face down, it does wobble some. There’s a crack in the paint near the top right corner (shown in photo 4). Light surface scratches scattered about. There are a few little scuffs or possibly color loss spots at the bottom edge of the painting. MEASUREMENTS: Painting measures approximately 6″ wide and 4″ tall. Salesman’s Sample Miniature 2 Drawer Blanket Chest in Old Dry Paint Folk Art

This is a keeper! Salesman’s sample miniature 2 drawer blanket chest in old dry dark green paint. The drawers are all hand made and constructed just like the full sized chests. The drawer pull knobs are antique knobs. The paint is original dark Windsor green paint with some in-painting on the edges. The top opens with miniature leather hinges. This is a reconstruction made from old recycled poplar with original dark green painted surface. The dimensions are: 10-1/4″ tall x 10″ wide x 4 deep (front to back). Antique English 19thC Folk Art Portrait Miniature Painting of Lady Dated 1835/36

From my own collection, this is an antique portrait miniature painting of a lady in a wonderful early 19thc yellow-brown dress with large full sleeves, her waist is belted high, as was the fashion. A white lace edged collar and long necklace complete her look. I bought this from an antique dealer in England several years ago. She has something written in ink on the back wooden panel, but the ink has faded and I cannot read it, other than a date, which is 1835 or 36. The portrait part of this measures 6 x 5″, the framed piece is 10 1/4 x 9″. It is 1 1/2 deep. This is in the original frame, which has wear commensurate with age, and I have photographed so you can see it. This is an old antique early 1900s original miniature oil on board painting from older local esate. The old period wood frame is 4 1/2″ by 7″ and painting from back is 4″ by 6 1/2″. Features a cat in a basket and nicely done. All I see to note is a pinhead of gold paint on the left background from frame probably being repainted decades ago.
