Miniature ANTIQUE Americana FOLK ART Wood GREEN PAINT Painted Document Box. Rectangular dovetail construction, with hinged lid. This is true AMERICAN FOLK ART. Lid has the initials “FM” carved into the top. The hinges and the wrought-iron strap lock are original. The key functions perfectly in the lock, and is antique, but may be a later replacement. Box measures 11 5/8″ x 5 7/8″ and stands 5 5/8 tall. This piece is in original untouched condition, and the paint is just spectacular. Unpolished, with original warm patina. Description & Condition: Up for sale is this wonderful antique circa 1830 Folk art portrait painting of a woman in a green dress. She has dark hair and is sitting in a red chair holding a pink flower in her hand. It is not signed but has fine details. It measures 33″ by 25″ and is in a gilt wood frame that measures 38 1/2″ by 30 1/2″. The painting has an old reline and some minor touch ups to the paint. This is really a nice portrait! Original green paint with dates and stamped initials. PLACE OF ORIGIN: Scandinavia. DATE OF MANUFACTURE: 1865. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES: Bentwood with green paint. MARKS: “EA” multiple places outside and underneath, also inscribed letters and date which seems to be “1865”. Some nicks and chips along edges. Natural wear from age and use to paint and wood. AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOOD CUBBY TOOL CABINET CUPBOARD ORIGINAL GREEN PAINT. Up for sale is very nice old cubby or tool cabinet. It has 16 cubbies above and one large space down below. The cabinet is made mostly from plywood. This probably dates it to mid-century. We’re not sure of the age so you make the call. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is nice green in color with old worn paint. The paint appears to be all original. The back is not painted. The front paint is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge. On the left side there’s a good sized chip near the top as you can see in the pictures. The inside looks clean and all original. What a great look!! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close-up ones. It’s a nice old cabinet/cupboard!! AAFA FOLK ART EARLY PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE OLD APPLE TRAY WOOD GREEN WHITE PAINT. Up for sale is this old antique apple tray with handles. It’s wood and has splayed sides with mitered corners and handle cut outs on each end to carry it by. It’s a low tray and has old dark green paint on the outside and white paint on the inside. You can see hints of a lighter green color under the chips in the dark green paint so it may have been a lighter green at one point in its life. It has mitered splayed corners as you can see in the pictures. On one end, under the handle, the tray has a crack. It’s solid and was likely glued at some point. You can see the crack in the pictures. There is some edge wear, paint loss, nicks, scrapes, splatters, scratches, and dings. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from an item of this age. It measures about 25″ L x 15″ W x 3.5 H. It’s a very nice piece for your collection. Thank you for looking at this item.
