Antique Norway Norwegian Tine or Tina Box Bride Box. A wonderful piece of Hand Painted Folk Art. Oval bentwood box or tine form, with lapped and glued sides. There is an arch handle on top. Painted with beautiful flowers, vines, and shapes. It says Do not cry, so shall you have your Tina in old Norwegian. This was used to carry baked goods. Could also be for trinkets and treasures. Box opens but is tight due to age. Be careful when opening. Box is approximately 6 x 3.5 x 3. There is a very light pencil mark on the bottom, which could be a name. I cant make it out. Antique Vintage Large Folk Art Painted Norwegian Ale Bowl Rosemaling

Everything I list is from my personal excess of collections and accumulations from my smoke-free home. A large antique rosemaled ale bowl from Norway, measuring a generous 9″ in diameter and 3.75″ tall. Lovely old muted colors are featured in the free-flowing folk painted design inside. Around the outer rim are words that rhyme…… I think it says something about filling the bowl to the brim and honoring the man who can drain it! As you can see in the photos there is some wear to the paint here and there and a very tiny 1/2 tight crack along the rim on one side. It makes a nice display piece with a wonderful old world look. Other items in the last photo are not included but can be found in my listings this week. Antique 1855 Folk Art Painted Norwegian Immigrant Domed Top Trunk Travel Chest

Antique dome top Norwegian folk art painted travel chest or trunk measuring approx. 43″ long x 22″ wide x 21 tall, in total. It has 3 colors of paint – blue, red, black and green and bears a name on the front and the year 1855. It has sustained some moves over the course of its life, and so there are small pieces of wood missing on the corners of the lid and back panel, scratches, wear to paint, some shrinkage related cracks. Most of this shown or can be seen in the photos(need more just ask). One of the large domed top nails came out and is in the storage tray in case you want to add it back. Square nail construction, sturdy and heavy piece that clearly was made to survive a voyage. ITEM: Antique Norwegian Tine Wood Storage Box. DETAILS: Beautiful old handmade wood box with vertical rib latch, laced joints and bentwood handle. Original green paint with dates and stamped initials. PLACE OF ORIGIN: Scandinavia. DATE OF MANUFACTURE: 1865. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES: Bentwood with green paint. MARKS: “EA” multiple places outside and underneath, also inscribed letters and date which seems to be “1865”. Some nicks and chips along edges. Natural wear from age and use to paint and wood. Antique Scandinavian Norwegian Folk Art Hand Painted Staved Grotambar Box

ANTIQUE SCANDINAVIAN NORWEGIAN FOLK ART HAND PAINTED STAVED GROTAMBAR. An antique Norwegian folk art Grotambar (porridge box). Dating to the early19th century, the pine box is made in sections and bound to hold in place (staved). The grotambar has been hand painted in green with a white washed base which sadly covers an original signature in beautiful script. It measures 7 inches tall x 7.5 inches in diameter. Amazingly the original little carved peg closure has survived probably because it is tied to the handle with what looks like original red string. It has been carved to fit exactly into a groove, such a lovely original detail. The box and painted surface show the signs of age and wear as can be seen but remain in otherwise good overall condition. Please see my listings for details.
