EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD FIRKIN ORIGINAL SAGE GREEN PAINT PANTRY BOX. Up for sale is this wonderful old firkin!! Some people call them sap buckets, pantry boxes, flour buckets or grain measures!! This one has a nice old sage / light olive green color to it!! It has what appears to be its original paint. This firkin measure is about 12. In diameter at the bottom and 10.5″ in diameter at the lid and 12″ high. This firkin is a nice size and is big in character!! The firkin has three bands around the bottom and two bands around the top of the firkin. The bands around the bottom are overlap bands and we don’t see any nails. There is one band around the lid also and it has small round nails that are dark. We don’t know if those are copper nails or metal, we’re not sure. Inside, it’s clean for its age and has some staining of green and purple as you can see. We’re not sure what that was about. The inside has a slight hickory or wood smell to it. On the outside is has some light fading, dry paint, edgewear, streaks, paint loss, paint chips, drips, nicks, staining. The paint on the wood knobs that hold the handle has alligatoring on it. The wood handle works nicely and the paint is mostly worn off. The lid rocks a little when on the firkin as the lid is just slightly warped but still fits nicely. The condition of this is exactly what you want to see in old true antiques! Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail and ask lots of questions if needed. Antique 1880’s New England Early American Folk Art Child’s Sled. The Fantastic Early American Folk Art Child’s Sled is painted Red with Yellow Pin Striping & White Daisy Style Flowers. In the center are Two (2) Birds sitting on a Branch with Cherries. The Sled is Oak with Metal Runners over an Oak Framework. The Side Boards are Pegged. Don’t miss the chance to own this fantastic example of Early American Folk Art! USED CONDITION: There are the normal scruffs & scratches to the sled due to lots of use. There is a split lengthwise in the red body of the sled. There are pencil markings on the underneath side of the body. The split has been glued. The wood runner on one (1) has been broken & glued in two (2) spots at the upright post. The other runner has additional metal attached to both sides of the wood runner at the last upright post. There are some chips of wood missing & hairline cracks here & there. There are several holes in the body that do not go clear through the wood. The red paint is worn & missing in spots. Antique EarlySmall Windsor Green Paint Wood Checker Board Folk Art Handmade AAFA

I love the size of the board, 13 1/2 inch by 8 1/2 inch. The checker board is nicely constructed out of one piece of wood, with a trim surrounding the whole board. Please study the pictures to see the condition. No real issues other than normal wear from age giving it a great old look. Paint has darkened from age. Early Aafa Antique Folk Art American Apothecary Cabinet Square Nails Green Paint

EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART AMERICAN APOTHECARY CABINET SQUARE NAILS GREEN PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful twelve-drawer apothecary cabinet. It has 12 equal sized drawers each with its own cup handle style pull. The color is a dark green which is on the wood and handle parts. It has edge wear and the paint is scuffed. What a great look! The cabinet measures 31.75″ wide and 37″ high and 11.25 deep. The cabinet is very heavy and weighs a hefty xx lbs. ! The top is one piece of wood and it’s faded over the years. The back is a thin piece of wood and was likely replaced at some point. It’s very clean. The drawers are dovetailed and of solid wood. They have square nails in the sides as you can see in the pictures. Some of them have writing on them on the outside of the drawers which you can’t see once they are slid in to the cabinet. Some of the writing is in pencil and other writing is in crayon. You can see where a couple of drawers have issues like the upper right drawer where the top of the wood face came off and the bottom was glued back on. The light wood color appears to have been the color of the cabinet before it was painted. All the drawers work well, though. We don’t know the age of this cabinet but it looks old to us! You make the call. It is a wonderful and one of a kind item! There are nicks, scrapes, dings, edgewear, chunks, paint loss, paint chips, some chips on the sides near the bottom (probably from moving this around) and worn finish as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. Lid has the initials “FM” carved into the top. The hinges and the wrought-iron strap lock are original. The key functions perfectly in the lock, and is antique, but may be a later replacement.
