This unique Folk Art box is perfect for an office or living room. It is a good size, just right for important papers and photo’s. The decorations on the box are what really sets it off: the unicorn on the front is adorable and the top decoration actually has some perspective to it. The sides have oversized flowers. The condition of the box is good for its age: there are a number of scuffs and the bottom of the box appears to have been made of recycled wood. The inside of the box is very clean and smooth, with no defects. The lid has a very faint crack. Measurements are: 11 1/8″ by 7″ and 9 tall. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. AAFA ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED BLUE BUREAU DESK RARE OOAK DOVETAILED SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this amazing and beautiful old desk or bureau. It’s an old flip top desk and it’s got a one-of-kind, hand painted motif. The main desk is a nice dark blue color with light blue areas as well as wood undertones peeking through here and there. There’s also oyster white, reddish orange, and dark blue accents on the motifs and trim. It’s all hand painted and quite amazing! The desk has a stretcher base with turned legs and bun feet. Inside it’s definitely from the pen and quill era as you can see ink spills on the inside. There are two compartments on either side of the single drawer which is a nicely dovetailed drawer as you can see in the pictures. On the drawer, in pencil, it’s written 1778. On the front of the desk there is a dark metal escutcheon and a skeleton key hole but we don’t have the key and we don’t know if the lock works. Inside the lid there are black strap iron hinges. They are really cool looking. They do have some newer, but rusty screws in the right hinge as you can see in the pictures but you can see where there is a nail in the left hinge that comes up and through the top of the desk and is bent over. We don’t know the age of this desk, but it looks like 1700’s American to us based on the hardware, the style and the bun feet. We’re not experts and we don’t know so you make the call. There are big square nails in the desk and we took some close up pictures of them. There are some condition issues here and there, but for it’s age, it’s in amazing shape. There are some worm holes in the back, especially along the joint in the wood. The bun feet and stretcher base have some issues including beetle damage, cracks and deterioration. There trim is cracked as you can see in the pictures. Has nicks, dings, scrapes, cuts, cracks, stains, chips, chunks, edge-wear and an absolutely wonderful patina. It’s truly an amazing piece! The desk measures 38.25″ H to the back and 32″ H to the front edge x 36.25″ W x 23″ D. This is a great desk and would make an amazing conversation piece. It’s sure to be a conversation starter! AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART RED PAINTED CHILD’S / DOLL’S TABLE / DESK & CHAIR SET. Up for sale is this wonderful little table and chair. It’s a small child’s table and it’s absolutely adorable. It has a little turned legs on the table with a small drawer in the side of the table. On top it has a little yellow border around the top of the table. The little yellow border is also on the chair seat. The chair is a cute little child’s chair with an open back with three vertical pieces of wood and an arched frame. This could be used for homework, school work, a desk or just decoration! It’s so cute!! The table measures 21. ” W x 15″ D x 18 H. We don’t know the age of this item but it looks early 20th century to us. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. There is a crack in the top as you can see in the pictures. There are round nails visible in the corners of the yellow border on the top of the table / desk.
