This delightful 10 ¾ x 17 oil on canvas depicts two kittens with SWEET faces at play and dates to the last decade of the 1800s. It is estate fresh, as found and quite dirty with a tear (minor loss) near one tail. The faces are unforgettable and the paint is stable with no other significant damage or loss. The sides are 3/4 inch thick and are painted with the Halloween scene wrapping around the edges so that a frame is not needed for hanging but recommended for this thickness of canvas. A Tangled Pumpkin Patch on a moonlit Halloween night. A Haunted Mansion with Trick or Treaters passing by. Fall foliage on the ground. Pumpkin buckets in hands and all under a full, Halloween Moon. Some Texture in the painting. High Quality Acrylic Paints Used. The backside of this canvas will also be Titled, signed with my full name, Lizzy Rainey, and dated 2018. This painting will also be sealed with a light clear varnish for protection. Trick or Treat Past Pumpkin Patch Mansion. It seemed to work well. Up for sale is a wonderful antique original Folk Art oil painting on canvas done in 1914. It’s signed on the corner and marked X. The painting is done with a lovely stylized approach depicting three cats playing. It is set in an ornate carved gilt-wooden frame and in nice condition. A rare form cat’s eye sign AKA Marble reflector sign which was personalized LONG ago by a grumpy old man! Unusual road sign to begin with, made even more remarkable with the hand painted instrucitons. 18″ x 18″ with a great patina. Traces of original paint remain, as do the cat’s eyes! And the painted by hand keep out notes. I love this piece. It is HEAVY and real. Could the paint be removed? Yes, and a dealer suggested it to me. I’d leave it just as is.
