Paint decorated double wall box in dark red paint with mustard banding on the front and side panels. You’ll need a good strong nail to hang this on as it is a good solid heavy box. It measures 18″ tall x 13-1/4″ wide x 5 deep (front to back). It is made from old vintage recycled antique wood fastened together with authentic early square cut nails. Antique 19thC FOLK ART BOX BLACK PAINT AAFA Document/ Pantry/ Candle/ Primitive. Folky mid 19th century homemade box in dry black paint. Applied wood strips continue on all walls of the box as well as rondelle and conical brass tack decoration. Strike plate removed at some point, likely when the key was lost (see pic 18). Some errant paint on lid in red and green, looks period and may be a clue to what the box was used for dried sealing wax? Back edge of lid broke off long ago. I’m not one who believes damage “adds character” in all cases but at least its old loss that had time to patinate and is not glaring (see pic 7). Great condition over all with scattered paint loss, surface wear. Approx 10.75″L x 6.75″W x 5 tall. See pics for additional details and any questions please ask. This is a full size Shaker style triple wall box in old black paint. The 3 front panels are graduated to create very nice proportions. It is constructed of pine with tiny cut nails and some brass screws in the back for reinforcement. This is a reconstruction made from old vintage wood with the original black paint. There is some in-painting and touch-up on the edges. The dimensions are: 19-1/4″ tall x 12-1/4″ wide x 3-1/2 deep. Please view all of the pictures. A very nice New England triple wall box in old black paint. This wall box features a traditional style back board of 3/8 pine. The sides and front panels are of thin 3/8 pine. The three front panels are graduated, the bottom being 4″ wide, the center 3″ wide and the top panel 2-1/2 wide which gives it nice proportions. It is fastened with tiny square cut nails. This is a reconstruction or reproduction made from early period wood. The paint is original old paint as is the wear on the edges. The dimensions are: 12″ wide x 18″ tall x 3-3/4 deep. There are paint spatters, nail holes and stains as well. The picture of the back shows a thin strip of wood that has been glued to add a little more strength to the upper back. A beautiful antique painted lidded carved wooden box. Judging by the style, I would think the box originates from Eastern Europe, early C20th and entirely hand made and painted. Designed to hang upon the wall, for candles or perhaps salt, the box has a bird carved decorative back and the vessel itself has been decorated with flowers and other birds. Has a repaired split along the length of the back and some paint chips, it is nonetheless a fabulous example of folk art of the period and region. Measures 36cm wide and 32cm tall – the box is 13cm deep. Has recently fitted brass wall fixings to aid mounting. Happy to send worldwide. This is a wonderful double wall box in beautiful old sea-foam blue/green paint. The color on this box is to die for. The lower panel is wider than the top panel and the upper box is stepped back for easy access to the bottom box. The dimensions are 15″ tall x 10-1/2″ wide x 4 deep. The box is constructed of thin hardwood with tiny square cut nails and the sides are mitered into the back. This is a reconstruction made from old wood. The painted surface is old and original but the edges have been color matched. Please view all of the photos. There are bumps and bruises and few holes here and there.
