Up for sale is a beautiful vintage folk art oil painting on canvas depicting a charming traditional log cabin with towering mountains in the distance. Along the foreground and surrounding the entire property is a waffle fence of layered sticks and trees that decorate the landscape behind the cabin. Signed low right “Glenn Carroll” this painting is dated low left November 27, 1974. Executed in oil on canvas this attractive painting measures 16 x 20 inches while the original wood frame measures 19.5 x 23.5 inches making this work ready to be hung and enjoyed. The work is in good condition while the frame shows some cosmetic blemishes. A self-taught folk artist, Evelyn Dubiel was inspired to paint after a trip to Colonial Williamsburg. She did a series of reproductions based on the work of. Ammi Phillips and then created paintings based on her own experiences (from AskArt. Com). The artist, now in her nineties is from Connecticut. This piece measures 9″ x 12″ (11 3/8″ x 14 3/8″ in the original sponge painted frame). The frame has a few scuffs that you can see in the photo. Please feel free to ask questions.
