Vintage Americana Folk Art Painting Dockside harbor New England artist Nicholson

Vintage folk art painting approximately 21×17 signed Nicholson 1987 lower right not sure on specifics. I believe In This painting artist repaints a famous art work from a book Charles Wysocki Impressionism Art. Americana he added his personal touches by naming the shops in the background with his name likely Bob Nicholson. Note Nicholson Deli and Bobs Fishery. The art is in excellent condition minor scratches on frame. The following is from Google ai also and not always 100% right. This is a folk art painting titled “Serenity” by John R. Clark, a self-taught artist from the New England area. The painting depicts a paddle steamer named “Serenity” in a harbor with a town in the background. The style is reminiscent of other New England folk artists like John Orne Johnson Frost, who also painted maritime scenes. The painting is framed and appears to be a vintage piece of artwork.

Very sweet oil on canvas seascape painting with great subject. Illegibly signed in corner, but I can read that the artist or scene is from Boston. Light, tiny spots of loss noticeable upon close inspection but still displays very nicely. Nice craquelure all over. Please use photos and zoom feature for most accurate condition. Measures 20″ by 16″. Please get them approved before purchasing. Any questions must be answered before the sale. Almost everything I offer is old and has likely spent time in a basement or garage.
