Wonderful early period wooden fool in fabulous condition. Well intact, only minor paint loss, gorgeous period garb, fully jointed and articulates well. I’m surprised that the pig tails have managed to stay intact, but they are. Please use photos and zoom feature for most accurate condition. Measures 9 5/8 tall. Folk Art Painting 19th C Mexican South American Oil 1850 Beautiful Dress

Great little folk portrait of a Spanish lady, probably Mexican or South American, oil on canvas with original stretcher. 20 x 16″, 29 x 25″ with frame. The bottom edge was ragged and needed work, but the rest was in very good condition, a professional paintings person did the repair. Search this dress style online and you will find it dates to around 1850. Clock in glass dome is a very nice touch. I found the frame online, it is new and very heavy.

Vintage Oil Painting Folk Art Girl Dress Mexican Courtyard Scene Agapito Labios

By a stroke of luck, I have now sourced two more Agapito Labios oil paintings. I will now have three available here on E-bay through my page. So, to stumble upon this one (a month ago), and now two more is a Coup. There were two other paintings available but I could not afford all of them, but I selected the best two. This beautiful Agapito Labios Folk Art/Expressionist oil painting of a Young Girl standing in a Courtyard (at a higher ground) & then having the Town she lives in, in the background is amazing & charming & a pleasure to offer. In researching again, I discovered that Marshall Fields carried his art back in the day, so I assume this was acquired there. PLEASE NOTE : Also, I have left the Offers open, and haven’t set a minimum. Serious offers will be considered. CONDITION : It is in nice, Vintage condition. You can see the lacquer throughout especially in upper right corner where you see blotches of the “real colors” peeking through. If I had the ability, I would get this cleaned and restored to show the true colors and clean off the past 60+ years of oxidation, dirt etc. Which btw, the back is very dusty and had not been cleaned in a long time. As shown, in photos #7-9 you can see a few pin holes. I hope no one stuck a pin through it for fun- I assume somehow it incurred this slight damage through the years. Again, goes with the territory in my opinion, and I assume could be patched… Or just left alone. And there is crackling throughout of the Lacquer. MEASUREMENTS: The frame measures 22 7/8″ x 28 1/2″… The canvas measures 18 1/8″ x 23 3/4″. Lastly, please wait for Accurate Invoice from me, not E -bay. Her head iscompletely oil painted and she has rosy cheeks, red open mouth with littleteeth! Her hair is a lovely dark blond and overall, she is captivating andbeautifully painted. Mother most have been very artistic. She does not sit due to straight legs andhips. She has mitten hands and defined feet but no individualized toes. Herdress is old and fits well but probably not original to her. She has oldpantaloons and petticoat with added white apron and brown stockings. She isstuffed very firmly and body is solid. Vintage Americana Folk Art Girl In Red Dress Dog & Cat After Ammi Phillips $1.7m

Fell in love with this painting more than 20 years ago in an antiques shop, long before I knew anything about folk art or ever heard of AMMI PHILLIPS. When we moved shortly thereafter, the newspaper article attached to verso detached and we never saw it again so dont remember what all it said because that was 14 years ago. In the interim, saw the famed Girl in a Red Dress with Dog, considered a folk art masterpiece, and came to appreciate this work even more. This girl, wearing a red necklace with her dress, is somewhat more adorable than the Phillips girl, and in this work you also get the cat she cradles. I just noticed it is not perfect but is very good. Hard to say the exact size of canvas but it seems to be approximately 19 x 16 while the beautiful frame is approximately 29 x 24.
