Abby Aldrich Rockefeller American Folk Art Collection -Framed “Landscape with Figures”- Artist Unknown. PLEASE read ENTIRE desciption for wear information. Total framed size measures about 23.5″ x 41.5″ x. Wood frame is about 2 wide. Corners of frame have a little wear- see pics 7, 8 & 9. Paper label on back reads: “LANDSCAPE WITH FIGURES, American 18th Century, Artist Unknown, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Collection, Williamsburg, Virginia” (see pic 2). Partial Paper label near top reads: “Framed Facsimile from the original oil on wood” (see pic 9). Pencil writing on back reads : “Pendelton 13010″ (see pic 9). There is a stain of some sort above the womans hat (see pic 4). There is a plastic plexiglass? Because the back is paper sealed, I do not know what the material the art is on. There is flexability to it, which causes the t. He artwork to not lay perfectly flush against the plastic. Please use pictures as an important source of information. Tape measure is not included. Brian Dowdall was born on February 12, 1948 in Anaconda, Montana. For a while he was involved with commune living and farming and he also lived in Mexico. Antique 1800 FOLK ART PORTRAIT PAINTINGS 2 Brothers 2 Sisters Great Collection

Original Antique Painted Portraits of 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters in Antique Birdseye Maple Frames. This is a wonderful original collection of 4 antique portrait watercolor paintings from the mid 1800s. They are of four children, an older brother who has a nautical type suit and is holding a spy glass or telescope. The second brother has a beautifully detailed pleated blue top and white pants. He is holding a large straw hat in his hand. The younger sister, who appears to be the youngest of the children is painted in a red dress and is holding a small purse. And probably the most special is the older sister who has a wonderfully plaid painted dress – a rare find in an early child portrait. The frames are period matching birdseye maple frames with slightly different measurements from 10 x8 inches, to 8.25 x 6.75 inches on the smallest. All 4 portraits are in wonderful condition. There is a small spot of red coloring on the background of the little girl’s painting over by the left side of the frame. The frames are beautiful with original patina. This is a special collection with all four children in the same setting. They are so well done in a folk art style and it is very rare to find a matching family set in the original period frames.
