Antique foot stool with folk art painting of a squirrel country home rustic camp

Nice whimsical hand made wooden foot stool with a humorous bushy tailed squirrel painted on the top. The folk art painting of the squirrel is quite well done and the legs of the stool have a pleasant cutout shape. The sides or the stool legs are painted in a mustard yellow paint decoration. The legs are also morticed into the top. The one side leg is a bit out of square. I believe the wood is walnut. The top of the stool is 13″ x 6 1/2″ and it is 6 1/2 high. Andrzej Galek COSSACK CAMP Polish Reverse Glass Folk Art Painting 1960s. Mid Century painting on glass by artist Andrzej Galek depicting folklore from Poland Old Region of Tatra Mountains, three Cossacks involved in various camp activities, one man is digging the ground with a shovel, while another smoking a pipe watches, and another is drinking from a flask. Signature at bottom, A. Galek middle of painting (is faded, but still discernible). Wood framed entire piece measures 11″high x 12 7/8″wide. Very good condition, frame shows wear. Andrzej Galek, was a Polish artist and architect, sometimes known as Andrew Knob. Galek was honored by Poland’s Ministry of Art and Culture, and was the son of noted Polish artist, Stanislaw Galek/Knob. The artist passed away in 1993. This is an Estate Item, please see photos.
