Early Aafa Antique Folk Art Cupboard White Pie Safe Punched Tin Old Paint Wood
OOAK ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE 19th CENTURY WHITE PIE SAFE WITH PUNCHED TIN ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this amazing old pie safe. This is the real deal!! It’s old, it’s Primitive and it’s fabulous! It’s a rare, one-of-a-kind white, punched tin pie safe. It has two doors on top, a drawer, and two doors on the bottom. The upper doors have rusty and faded punched tins as you can see. The cabinet is mostly a white /off-white color but there are undertones of wood, and light green or blue. What paint is left is alligatored and worn. It measures 70.5″ H x 37.75″ W at the main cabinet by 14.75 D not including the top trim or knobs. There are cabinet and drawer pulls and all of them are brown and mushroom style as you can see in the pictures. The two on the drawer are the same but the others are similar but different. The upper one on the door has a washer on the inside as you can see in the pictures. On the cabinet doors, it has a piece of wood / thumb turn to hold the doors shut on both of the right doors as you can see in the pictures. The bottom thumb turn looks newer and has a newer screw. There are two shelves in the upper part and one shelf in the bottom part. The inside of the upper doors are white and tin while the bottom doors are tan painted wood. We don’t know the age of this pie safe but most of them are from before 1900. You can see the wear, age and patina on the wood, wow!! There are scratches, nicks, chips, surface rust, paint loss, hand rub wear, edge wear, paint marks, swirls, and patina. These are all things you want to see in a true antique – we love it!! The hinges are little rusty shaker style hinges and the upper right door, upper hinge has nails in it that get a little loose with wear and then the door gets a little loose. You can just tap these nails back in and you’re good for a while more. The sides have a wonderful whale tail boot jack and there’s a crack in the center of the tail developing. They are still sturdy but you can see the crack. The back is made of three boards and two battens and there is an old metal repair on the left side. The back has old rusty round nails and black iron spots from the nails on the wood. On the left side there’s a gap at the edge and we took a picture of that. The top is not painted and has warped a little toward the front on both sides. We took a picture of that also. It’s a very nice piece for your collection. Thank you for looking at this item. Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail and ask lots of questions if needed. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. This is a great old pie safe! We regularly put up new items so check out our other items. We will do our best to answer your questions. We will handle them on a case-by-case basis. We will do the same. We couldn’t sell anything if it wasn’t for you and the time you have taken to spend looking at our items. As a very small business we strive to keep you as our customer! EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART APOTHECARY GENERAL STORE SQUARE NAILS ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this fabulous old and early primitive APOTHECARY CABINET or cupboard. It’s a nice old stepback and was likely a general store sales display cabinet. It’s an open cabinet above with three shelves above and 30 drawers down below. We don’t know how old it is, but it looks early 1800’s to us! It has big old SQUARE NAILS throughout and a wonderful ORIGINAL (old) GRAY PAINT with tons of character and patina. The cabinet measures 72.25″ H x 80.25″ W x 17.5″ D at the bottom and 8″ D at the top. This old cabinet is a survivor. The top part comes off the bottom part and is screwed in to the two pieces of wood near the back of the bottom piece. It has old slotted rusty screws that hold it together. The back at the top is made from five large boards. The back at the bottom is made from ten tongue and groove boards. There’s some damage on the back from critters, a tool or something. It has sat in our garage for two years and there was no evidence of any activity so whatever did the work on this was long gone. There are big gnarly SQUARE NAILS on the back and big iron spots on the wood as you can see in the pictures. Near the bottom it has a flared out trim. You can see in the pictures where a chunk of this is missing. There are also cracks in the trim. We recommend you put a piece of wood under one end when lifting the cabinet to help keep the trim from breaking. On the bottom, you can see the big gnarly SQUARE NAILS. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is a beautiful gray in color with OLD WORN PAINT. The paint appears to be all original to the cabinet. The top part of the right side does not have paint on it as you can see in the pictures. There are 8 drawers in each of the top three rows. The drawers are DOVETAILED on the sides as you can see in the pictures. The top row has one drawer that has three knobs but is one drawer. The middle knob on the drawer is darker and a different shape which likely means that it is not original to the piece. All the other knobs look original to us. A few of the knobs have nicks and chunks missing as you can see in the pictures. Here are little blocks of wood at the backs of the drawers that stop the drawers at the right spot. You can just open the drawers, move the wood back and then put the drawers back in. If you don’t move the cabinet around you shouldn’t have to mess with the little blocks. The back is not painted. The paint is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, faded, edge. The inside is all original. On the shelves there are ring marks, stains, worn areas and PATINA. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s special!! It is truly one-of-a-kind! We’ve not seen a nicer cabinet for sale online. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are very good for the color, especially the close-up ones. It’s a great old cabinet/cupboard!! We can also recommend a couple of shippers. This is a great cabinet! We regularly put up new items so check out our other items! We will do our best to answer your questions. We will do the same. We couldn’t sell anything if it wasn’t for you and the time you have taken to spend looking at our items. As a very small business we strive to keep you as our customer! EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART CABINET CUPBOARD SQUARE NAILS ORIG BLUE PAINT REPAIR. Up for sale is this fabulous old primitive cabinet or cupboard. It’s a nice old cupboard with wonderful color. It’s a two-door cabinet with three shelves inside. We don’t know how old it is, but it looks early 1800’s to us! The cabinet is a beautiful worn, chipped and patina-ed Federal blue. The cabinet measures 64.5″ W (without top trim) x 48.75″ H (with top trim) x 17.75 D (without top trim). This old cabinet is a survivor. The back is made from thirteen tongue and groove boards as you can see in the pictures. There are big square nails along with other, smaller square nails, and some round nails too. You can see the iron spotting from the nails on the wood. There’s also a couple of repairs on the lower right along with rough wood as you can see in the pictures. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is a beautiful blue in color with old worn paint. The paint appears to be all original on the front and right side (the right side is mostly painted but some wood only). The left side is just wood (no paint) as you can see in the pictures. The right side has the top trim while the left side does not. The left side may be where it was built in since it is unpainted. The back is not painted. The paint is dry, worn, alligatored, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, faded, edge. On the front, in the middle, the board there is loose and has a mouse hole in it. You could probably add a nail to fix that up. The hardware is old and the knobs are nicely detailed. You twist the knobs to release them from their catches. The left knob does not “spring back” as much as the one on the right does as it’s likely a bit more worn. The top is a darker brown color and has some cracks in the wood as shown in the pictures. The inside looks all original with great patina too! There are ring marks, stains, worn areas and lighter areas. You can see the repair at the bottom in the middle where a board was added. There is also a metal repair on the left side on the middle shelf. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s special! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close-up ones. It’s a great old cabinet/cupboard!! We can also recommend a couple of shippers. This is a great cabinet! It’s all hand painted in a deep mustard color and has tremendous patina, crackling and wear. The cabinet measures 24.25″ high to the top and 20.5″ wide at the top. 5 wide at the cabinet. Deep at trim and 8. Oor is 15″ wide and 19.75″ high. On the front it has a little twist latch and catch. That’s been painted over. The hinges are Shaker style hinges as you can see from the pictures. There are some holes on the front where there may have been other hinges at some other time, we’re not sure as there are only two holes in the cabinet for the top pair and there are no other holes on the door. We’d not sure what that’s about. It has a cute little scalloped dental / crown moulding at the top. Inside there are two shelves. The back is made from four tongue and groove boards. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk! We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. We have a number of new items so check out our other items. We will handle them on a case-by-case basis. We don’t know the age of this sign but it looks old to us, you make the call. It’s painted and has an old white / oyster white background with red letters. It’s worn and faded in places, and a little dirty around the edges perhaps, but it has a great look to it and a wonderful old look. RARE SET OF 6 EARLY AMERICAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SIDE CHAIRS CIRCA 1800’s HAND PAINTED. Up for sale is this amazing set of 6 Early American Pennsylvania Dutch chairs. They have turned legs and painted backs, seats and legs. They are a Hitchcock style chairs with hand-painted floral designs with yellow, green, black and faded white colors on the backs and they have painted seats and legs of white and yellow designs. All 6 chairs match. The stain on the chairs is a deep, rich brown color all nicely patina-ed. The back of the backs of the chairs are plain brown. There’s wear on the seats and one some of the edges where people rubbed over the years. We think these are from the 1800’s but they might be earlier, we’re not sure as we are not experts in the ages of things. The chairs are sturdy. Some of the back of the backs have some little scrapes and wear as you can see in the pictures. The seats show wear, variation in color. And nicks in the finish. Some of the footrests also show wear and loss of stain from rubbing shoes and feet on the rungs. Some of the rungs are just a little loose as you might expect from years of use. Have nicks, chips, edgewear and wonderful patina on them as you’d expect from chairs of this age! The chairs measure 33 inches H x 19 inches W at the backs (15.25 W at the seats) x 14 inches D. This is a fabulous (hard-to-find) set of 6 chairs. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions.
