Please see item description. ANTIQUE OIL PAINTING Welsh Romantic Primitive Landscape MONMOUTHSHIRE 1878. “A View in Monmouthshire” By Frederick Lena 1878. Highly decorative primitive school painting of a view in Monmouthshire. Provenance- Private collection, Parkside Villa, Suffolk. Size- 19.5 by 15.5 inches approx including frame. Medium- Oils on canvas laid to wooden panel. Frame- Antique wooden frame, some knocks and losses, offered free with the painting. Condition- We would be very happy to hang this one as found. It is in pretty good condition given its age. The item has been professionally cleaned though there is still some residual varnish browning visible. Light craqueleur and some verticle striations from the timbering beneath the canvas. Signature- Unsigned, later inscription on the reverse.
