His sensitive and sincere big brown eyes, his kind expression, and his flowing white hair takes you back to a time. You wish you could have known him! This AMERICAN FOLK ART PORTRAIT dates around 1860. It is simple and understated. Its TRUE PRIMITIVE AMERICAN FOLK ART! The piece appears to be in ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED CONDITION. There is no in-painting detected under black light inspection. The piece could probably use a professional cleaning, but I like my old pieces to look old, so I usually don’t touch them. This painting is a. Ttributed to Frederich Brandes German, early/mid-19th c. , This is one of a pair of Portraits: A Lady with lace-trimmed Cap and Collar. The mate to this painting (which I will be listing) gives the name of the sitter, Frantz Georg Friederich Brennecke b. August 13, 1754, 1821, this is an oil on canvas, the latter signed, dated and inscribed with name of sitter en verso, 25 1/2 in. Canvas only and 28 3/4 in. Craquelure due to the age of the painting. Best late 19th Century American hand carved and painted Folk Art “Snake” Cane!! Probably the nicest I have owned in original polychrome painted surface! The carved Handle is neat with carved and painted decoration. The “Sneaky Snake” climbing the Cane is incredible! It even has tiny beaded eyes, see close-up photos. Antique Mexican Oil Painted Tin Retablo Folk Art Midevil Original Religious

Very unique, one of a kind, original 16.5″ x 12.5″ (total size to include frame) oil on tin painting believed to be by listed, famous artist Retablo. I believe his signature mark is “soiled”/rusted over on left side, midway up the frame. Or, even better, Its not a Retablo and the artist signature mark is down on the bottom right side with what looks like a W with a T going through it. Either way, it is unique, a little bit scary, and tells a story that I’ve only begun to understand. It is reminiscent of Da Vinci mixed with Salvador Dali and Folk Art depicting a midevil religious scene/story. Notice the rocket / jet on the right! It is a “chilly” depiction but does not give any feeling or energy of that nature at all. It is rather memorizing in that you can look at it for hours and a story begins to unfold. It is a soft, calm, painting with an ornate carved, deep detailed wood frame of a natural light color. It does not look painted or stained. This particular piece of art has not been altered, has minor rust with small areas of paint missing and areas that need cleaned as I only did a very light surface clean to it and not sure if existing can or should be cleaned as it may change / damage the art. The frame can be cleaned deeper, I’m sure…. I consider to be in very good condition compared to others this age.. Almost excellent when compared. Antique Folk Art Primitive Countertop Painted Wood Showcase Display Case

This is an antique primitive Folk Art countertop painted wood showcase/display case. I would estimate it dates circa 1890s or early 1900s, but it could be even earlier. It measures 23 inches tall at its highest point (58.4 cm). It measures 15 inches wide by 7 1/4 inches deep (38.1 cm x 18.4 cm). This piece is definitely handmade. It has an incredible primitive feeling to it. The wood looks like it was hand cut all over. I’m fairly certain the paint on it is original. As you can see in the photos, about 20% of it has worn off over the years. It has one wooden shelf in the middle which is permanent. Not too long ago, someone installed two small lights in it. You may want to leave these in or take them out. The very top center piece has a crack going through it, but it is still intact. There is a small piece of wood that holds in the glass missing in the top left corner of the door. It’s still held in tightly. It has its original brass latch on the door and side. If you like old painted primitive pieces, I think you’ll really enjoy this. It weighs 9 pounds 15 1/2 ounces (4.52 kg).
