Antique 19thC TAPE LOOM HEART CUTOUT AAFA Folk Art Primitive. Late 18th to 19th century tape loom with cutout heart. One side with blue over original olive, the other side never painted over the first coat. From the collection of Dr James and Betty Sutherland of Cincinnati Ohio with American attribution. Old folk art painting of Man with Dog. Attributed To / Manner Of Bill Traylor

The painting depicts a fantastic whimsical scene of a man who appears to be dancing with a cane and dog. It is signed Bill Traylor in the upper center area. This painting has been through a very long & controversial ordeal. According to the previous owner, this painting belonged to his late grandmother “Fanny” who lived in Queens and he received it as a gift from his grandfather “Albert”. Another problem the autheticators had was that an old matting was glued down to the actual work and they strongly encouraged him to have it removed. Unfortunately he ended up taking it to one of the worlds most unprofessional “art conservators” who ended up damaging some of the paint on the mans shirt and cutting down the painting in order to remove the Matt. Value of this painting has been affected considering everything that it’s been through. Having stated all of the above please note that. The measurements are 10 x 14″ inches unframed and 14 x 18″ inches framed. The painting sits within a beautiful golden wood frame that is NOT original to the painting. With the exception of some paint loss and the fact the painting was cut down from its original size, we think that it is in overall good condition. But please look at the images for more details. Antique Carved Wood Folk Art Primitive Poodle Figurine Statue Painted

This listing features the antique carved and painted wood statue shown in the pictures and described in the title. Nice original condition with no major cracks, chips, or repairs. It’s not perfect but overall very good with only minor paint loss. I’ll add exact size tonight. I’m solo and have three kids. It does not mean I’m ignoring you. I offer good stuff with no games. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY LISTINGS! This dog measures from nose to tail approx. No chips, cracks or repairs to the wood. This is actually from the 1930s according to the heirs. So I should not have stated “antique”. Plus, the owner of this dog told me something I need to mention: this carving was originally a lot darker, so much so there was no color to be seen. So he tried to clean it off with some type of solvent, and in the process he removed not only surface grime, but also the patina, and even some of the paint. So he stopped “cleaning” it halfway through the job-it still has some grime left. Then the guy tried to re-paint some of the green (on the base) but didn’t get the colors to match exactly. I swear it wasn’t me-I leave things alone just for this reason-I’ll ruin it somehow. Anyway, I’m not entirely sure what the guy did because he is quite old and does not remember, or explain things well at all. He mumbles so I can’t understand half the things he says. I offer a full guarantee for any reason (as with all my listings), so you can have a look at this carving and see if you like it. If I owned this, I’d wax the entire surface. It’s wax with stain.
