Offering a very nice 19th century antique round wooden pantry box in wonderful dry bluish green paint, and signed “J BURR”…. John Burr (1791 – 1857) a well known, well documented maker / cooper out of Hingham Mass. The box is a nice early, thick, heavy gauge example in wonderful, early, bluish green paint, with lots of character and age appropriate wear. The overlapping on the lid and box are secured with the original copper tacks and the bottom and top are secured with wooden pegs. DIMENSIONS – 6 11/16″ diameter top, 6 1/2″ diameter base, 2 15/16 high. THE BOX IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION… NO WOOD LOSS OR REPAIRS – IT DOES HAVE A SPLIT IN THE BOTTOM, WHICH DOES NOT GO THROUGH TO THE INTERIOR.
