Nice vintage Primitive – Folk painting on stretched canvas of a Village in Winter which measures approximately 20″ X 24″. Done in either acrylic or oil paint and painting is unframed. Signed lower left either Tanus or Janus. I would estimate this to be from the 1950s or 1960s. Painting in good vintage condition with some craquelure to top right sky area due to age. Lower 48 states only please.

Vintage Folk Art Primitive Oil On Canvas Painting of Man/Boy & Dog With Detached Broken Frame. Preowned with minor wear on the actual painting, but the sides of the canvas/corners&edges, have some wear, as shown in pictures. The canvas is detached from the frame. The frame shows wear. The frame is old wood with what appears to be veneer over it. The corner of the frame is coming apart, as shown. The frame has a long scratch on it and the edges/corners have wear, as shown. This does appear to be an oil painting based on the appearance on the canvas and the paint along the sides of the canvas. The painting has areas of shininess where it looks wet. The painting measures 9×12 without the frame. With the frame, approximately another inch longer and wider. Nice painting for an art enthusiast or a collector of vintage items! Found this wonderful wooden hand painted Noah’s ark years ago in Connecticut. The detailed paintings on each side and top are excellent. I wish it was signed by the artist. Measures 20 inches long and about 7 1/2 inches wide. Top roof is hinged nicely and all animals fit nicely inside. Pairs of hand painted carved wooden animals: zebras, elephants, camels, lions and giraffes. Animals are detailed and about 3 to 5 inches high. New England folk art.

A highly decorative study of a faithful dog that dates to the later Victorian era. Charming British primitive study signed lower right. Size- 9 by 15 inches approx. Medium- Oils on wooden panel. Condition- We would be very happy to hang this one as found. There is however quite a lot of varnish browning and an indentation/ scratch to the dog’s chest.
