EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART APOTHECARY GENERAL STORE SQUARE NAILS ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this fabulous old and early primitive APOTHECARY CABINET or cupboard. It’s a nice old stepback and was likely a general store sales display cabinet. It’s an open cabinet above with three shelves above and 30 drawers down below. We don’t know how old it is, but it looks early 1800’s to us! It has big old SQUARE NAILS throughout and a wonderful ORIGINAL (old) GRAY PAINT with tons of character and patina. The cabinet measures 72.25″ H x 80.25″ W x 17.5″ D at the bottom and 8″ D at the top. This old cabinet is a survivor. The top part comes off the bottom part and is screwed in to the two pieces of wood near the back of the bottom piece. It has old slotted rusty screws that hold it together. The back at the top is made from five large boards. The back at the bottom is made from ten tongue and groove boards. There’s some damage on the back from critters, a tool or something. It has sat in our garage for two years and there was no evidence of any activity so whatever did the work on this was long gone. There are big gnarly SQUARE NAILS on the back and big iron spots on the wood as you can see in the pictures. Near the bottom it has a flared out trim. You can see in the pictures where a chunk of this is missing. There are also cracks in the trim. We recommend you put a piece of wood under one end when lifting the cabinet to help keep the trim from breaking. On the bottom, you can see the big gnarly SQUARE NAILS. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is a beautiful gray in color with OLD WORN PAINT. The paint appears to be all original to the cabinet. The top part of the right side does not have paint on it as you can see in the pictures. There are 8 drawers in each of the top three rows. The drawers are DOVETAILED on the sides as you can see in the pictures. The top row has one drawer that has three knobs but is one drawer. The middle knob on the drawer is darker and a different shape which likely means that it is not original to the piece. All the other knobs look original to us. A few of the knobs have nicks and chunks missing as you can see in the pictures. Here are little blocks of wood at the backs of the drawers that stop the drawers at the right spot. You can just open the drawers, move the wood back and then put the drawers back in. If you don’t move the cabinet around you shouldn’t have to mess with the little blocks. The back is not painted. The paint is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, faded, edge. The inside is all original. On the shelves there are ring marks, stains, worn areas and PATINA. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s special!! It is truly one-of-a-kind! We’ve not seen a nicer cabinet for sale online. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART CABINET CUPBOARD SQUARE NAILS ORIG BLUE PAINT REPAIR. Up for sale is this fabulous old primitive cabinet or cupboard. It’s a nice old cupboard with wonderful color. It’s a two-door cabinet with three shelves inside. We don’t know how old it is, but it looks early 1800’s to us! The cabinet is a beautiful worn, chipped and patina-ed Federal blue. The cabinet measures 64.5″ W (without top trim) x 48.75″ H (with top trim) x 17.75 D (without top trim). This old cabinet is a survivor. The back is made from thirteen tongue and groove boards as you can see in the pictures. There are big square nails along with other, smaller square nails, and some round nails too. You can see the iron spotting from the nails on the wood. There’s also a couple of repairs on the lower right along with rough wood as you can see in the pictures. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is a beautiful blue in color with old worn paint. The paint appears to be all original on the front and right side (the right side is mostly painted but some wood only). The left side is just wood (no paint) as you can see in the pictures. The right side has the top trim while the left side does not. The left side may be where it was built in since it is unpainted. The back is not painted. The paint is dry, worn, alligatored, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, faded, edge. On the front, in the middle, the board there is loose and has a mouse hole in it. You could probably add a nail to fix that up. The hardware is old and the knobs are nicely detailed. You twist the knobs to release them from their catches. The left knob does not “spring back” as much as the one on the right does as it’s likely a bit more worn. The top is a darker brown color and has some cracks in the wood as shown in the pictures. The inside looks all original with great patina too! There are ring marks, stains, worn areas and lighter areas. You can see the repair at the bottom in the middle where a board was added. There is also a metal repair on the left side on the middle shelf. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s special! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE BUCKET BENCH WOOD OLD BLUE PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind bucket bench. It’s old, it’s adorable and it’s a wonderful painted blue color with soft green undertones and lots of age and patina! There are two shelves that are nailed into the sides of the bucket bench as you can see in the pictures. The shelves are in good condition but the top shelf has a portion of wood missing, likely where a knot was, in the middle-left-center as you can see in the pictures. The right side of the top shelf has a small crack in it and on the left side one of the nails created a chip in the shelf and the chip is still there. We took a close-up of that area for you. The whole bucket bench is in good condition considering its age. The bucket bench measures 38″ W x 29-7/8″ H x 12-5/8 D (with the back board). The wood is almost exactly 1 thick, just slightly less. The sides both have cracks in them but they are still sturdy and have not split. The sides at the bottom have a nice rounded scalloped / bootjack to them and top edge is radiused. The back boards have circular saw marks as you can see in the pictures. There are a couple of places where the nails split the wood. There are mostly old square nails as you can see, but there are also some gnarly looking rusty old round nails. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. We don’t know the age of this item but we think it’s from the 1800’s but you make the call. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, edge wear. Loss, paint, fading, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. AAFA FOLK ART WOOD ANTIQUE TOTE TRAY CUT OUT HANDLES ORIGINAL RED PAINT. Up for sale is this old antique tray. It’s wood and has a handle on top to carry it by. It has original oxblood red paint with great patina! It’s a wonderful size, perfect for a table top centerpiece for the holidays! It is nailed together with old rusty nails. Inside it’s divided in to four compartments. There is a lot of edge wear, nicks, scrapes, scratches, chunks missing, and dings as you can see. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from an item of this age. The last picture shows where the wood has cracked along the edge of the tray. There is a small nail there to hold it and it is still sturdy. It does not detract from the item. It measures about 17″ L x 15.75″ W x 4″ H to the edge of the tray and about 6.75″ H to the top of the handle. It weighs about 6.5 lbs. 75 thick which is why it weighs so much. AAFA FOLK ART SINGLE SIDED GAME CHECKER BOARD ORIGINAL RED PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this old hand-painted checker / game board. It has a great folk art feel to it! The board is a wonderful red color with cream-colored squares. It’s an 8 x 8 game board. There is paint loss, edge wear and hand wear but it looks just great! The game is on a two-piece board as we hope you can see in the pictures. We don’t know when the game was painted on but it looks old to us. It’s got great colors! The checkerboard has bread board ends and in the upper left corner there’s some chunks of wood missing. There are old rusty nails in the bread board ends. And, on the sides, the edging is a bluish color as you can see in the pictures. There are a couple of square nails which we tried to show in the pictures. Not all of the nails are square nails. Also on the top there is a nice round hook to hang it up by. On the back, the one smaller board is a different color and the bigger board is a wood color. There are two hangers on the back as you can see in the pictures. It measures 23.5″ L x 13.5″ W x 1 thick the main wood is. As mentioned, there’s some paint loss, nicks, scrapes, scratches, worn edges and dings. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from an item of this age… It’s still just a neat old board!! 1800s FOLK ART ORIGINAL PAINT MUSTARD EARLY WOOD DRY SINK DOUGH BOX SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive portable dry sink. Imagine this on the back of a chuck wagon as settlers moved across the country!! Stop for lunch and break out the portable dry sink! It’s a nice size. It’s a wonderful dry, crackled, soft mustard color with blue, red, grey, cream and wood undertones. Please see photos for the best description and accuracy. The dry sink has a lid on it that is removable. It is not attached to the dry sink. There are also two holes and a small crack in the lid of the dry sink as you can see in the pictures but the lid is still strong. You could use this as a center piece on your table and it would give you a great look. Leave the lid off and fill it up with wonderful greens or pumpkins or Christmas items. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! There are also some cracks in the wood from age. There’s some damage on the right side where the wood was damaged. Also at that point, you can see one of the large heavy duty square nails. There are a lot of square nails in this piece. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! It’s an old dry sink and you can see that there’s even two drains / holes on the left side in the bottom. We took a close up picture of this. There are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variation of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great dry sink! The dry sink measures 32.5″ L x 22″ D x 6.5″ H without the top and 7.5″ H with the top. The top is 7/8 thick wood. We regularly put up new items so check out our other items. AAFA ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED BLUE BUREAU DESK RARE OOAK DOVETAILED SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this amazing and beautiful old desk or bureau. It’s an old flip top desk and it’s got a one-of-kind, hand painted motif. The main desk is a nice dark blue color with light blue areas as well as wood undertones peeking through here and there. There’s also oyster white, reddish orange, and dark blue accents on the motifs and trim. It’s all hand painted and quite amazing! The desk has a stretcher base with turned legs and bun feet. Inside it’s definitely from the pen and quill era as you can see ink spills on the inside. There are two compartments on either side of the single drawer which is a nicely dovetailed drawer as you can see in the pictures. On the drawer, in pencil, it’s written 1778. On the front of the desk there is a dark metal escutcheon and a skeleton key hole but we don’t have the key and we don’t know if the lock works. Inside the lid there are black strap iron hinges. They are really cool looking. They do have some newer, but rusty screws in the right hinge as you can see in the pictures but you can see where there is a nail in the left hinge that comes up and through the top of the desk and is bent over. We don’t know the age of this desk, but it looks like 1700’s American to us based on the hardware, the style and the bun feet. We’re not experts and we don’t know so you make the call. There are big square nails in the desk and we took some close up pictures of them. There are some condition issues here and there, but for it’s age, it’s in amazing shape. There are some worm holes in the back, especially along the joint in the wood. The bun feet and stretcher base have some issues including beetle damage, cracks and deterioration. There trim is cracked as you can see in the pictures. Has nicks, dings, scrapes, cuts, cracks, stains, chips, chunks, edge-wear and an absolutely wonderful patina. It’s truly an amazing piece! The desk measures 38.25″ H to the back and 32″ H to the front edge x 36.25″ W x 23″ D. This is a great desk and would make an amazing conversation piece. It’s sure to be a conversation starter! ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE MOLDING PEDIMENT CORNICE ORIGINAL GREEN PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this old architectural item. It’s a pediment, or cornice, or perhaps a mantel. We’re not sure what it was used for but we know it’s old. We don’t know how old but it has old square nails and that alligator, chippy paint. There are two newer metal hooks in the top of the pediment in the event you want to hang it. It measures 61.25″ W at the top of the corbel and 55″ W at the base. It’s 14.5″ H and 7″ D at the middle and 4.25 D at the base. We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. AAFA EARLY FOLK ART ANTIQUE WALL SHELF ORIGINAL WHITE PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind wall shelf. It’s old, its paint is wonderfully crackled and alligatored. It’s wood, and it appears to be the original old paint. It is white with wood color, beige, green and even a few blue undertones. The white paint is very old. It’s got edgewear and paint chips / missing paint but it’s adorable with lots of age and patina! The supports are nicely scalloped as you can see in the pictures. On the back, the little scallops are held in to the back board with little square nails. On the front, there are a number of places where they put holes through the face board to hold it to the wall. All of this just adds such wonderful character to this shelf! On the top, there are two newer eye hooks as you can see in the pictures. These could easily be unscrewed if you don’t want them. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. The shelf measures 48″ L at the top and 43″ L along the back x 8.75″ H x 8″ D. The wood on the top is 1 thick. We don’t know the age of this item. There are nicks, scrapes, edge wear, paint loss, fading, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. 1800s FOLK ART ORIGINAL PAINT MUSTARD EARLY WOOD DRY SINK DOUGH BOX SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive portable dry sink. Imagine this on the back of a chuck wagon as settlers moved across the country!! Stop for lunch and break out the portable dry sink! It’s a nice size. It’s a wonderful dry, crackled, soft mustard color with blue, red, grey, cream and wood undertones. Please see photos for the best description and accuracy. The dry sink has a lid on it that is removable. It is not attached to the dry sink. There are also two holes and a crack in the lid of the dry sink as you can see in the pictures. You could use this as a center piece on your table and it would give you a great look. Leave the lid off and fill it up with wonderful greens or pumpkins or Christmas items. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! There are also some cracks in the wood from age. There’s some damage on the right side where the wood was damaged. Also at that point, you can see one of the large heavy duty square nails. There are a lot of square nails in this piece. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look!! It’s an old dry sink and you can see that there’s even two drains / holes on the left side in the bottom. We took a close up picture of this. There are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variation of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great dry sink! The dry sink measures 32.5″ L x 22″ D x 6.5″ H without the top and 7.5″ H with the top. The top is 7/8 thick wood. We regularly put up new items so check out our other items.
