Antique Folk Tramp Art Old Paint Wooden Wood Spools Small Lidded Box Footstool. Antique folk art lidded box. Circa late 1800’s/early 1900’s. Hand made wooden box, covered in wooden spools (that are cut in half–lengthwise and nailed onto the box). Four feet are also wooden spools. Lid is covered in fabric. Measures 13″L X 10″H X 10W. Original ivory/gray paint (very chippy). Wonderful example of folk art–very unique piece! If there are any questions about an item, I do my best to give you even more information about an item. Beautiful Small Antique Paint Decorated Dome Top Document Box Folk Art

Paint decorated miniature dome top trunk or document box. This is a really nice box! The box retains its original lock plate and hinges but the hasp has been replaced. It is lined with old wallpaper. It is constructed with very light, thin pine and a combination of old and some newer nails. The decoration is a later (newer) artisan addition but looks as old as the box. There is a repaired crack in the top securely glued. It measures 10″ long x 5-1/2″ tall x 5-1/2 deep (front to back). On verso there is an inscription “The Herr Baron one of the stud horses of the King of Bavaria” Tudie Dennis München 1881. It is oil on wooden board and is 30 by 28 cm. The painting has scratches mostly around the horse but there is one which starts above the horse mouth and going down. Sorry, the 3 digits of the date are a bit hard to read. We ghave had another look and we think it is 8 not 2 so it was painted in 1881.
