Hand carved wood, two-sided, original paint with beautiful coloring and detail, resting on a cast iron base, all make this the perfect unique, attractive one-of-a kind decorative piece. This is from one of the earliest examples of the modern platform style carousel, called dobbies, that were invented in the mid 19th century.
