Allison Lee Merriweather (Visionary & Outsider Artist). Based in Olympia, Washington State, born in 1962. She is known for her vibrant, intuitive, and dreamlike paintings. Self-described “outsider” artist who works entirely extemporaneously without prior sketching. Her work is filled with whimsical humor, warm surrealism, world cultures, and distinct recurring motifs such as ferocious animals and tiny green grasshoppers. Exhibitions : Has hosted numerous solo shows throughout California, including the Upstairs Gallery, The Lab, and the Wells Fargo Exhibition Room. Her prints have been highlighted at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.
