Aafa Antique Folk Art Blue Paint Wood Wheelbarrow Garden Primitive Square Nails
AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART BLUE PAINT WOOD WHEELBARROW GARDEN PRIMITIVE SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful old wheelbarrow. We don’t know the age or its origin, but it looks old to us. It’s so cute! It’s an old Federal blue that’s faded and worn. There’s also a little faded red trim / paint on the sides as you can see in the pictures. There’s a little decal on each side that was probably added later and is fairly well worn. It looks like an Indian to us. It measures 35 long x 12 wide at handles x 10.5 wide at front of the barrow and. High at highest point. I t’s been well used and loved over the years. The handles are worn, the sides have some scrapes, paint loss and wear. The inside shows some light grunge and use. The front axle looks a little crooked but it still rolls nicely. The wheel is black. The paint appears to be all original and is worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor like this! Aafa Antique Folk Art Old White Paint Large Wooden Wheelbarrow Garden Primitive
AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART OLD WHITE PAINT LARGE WOOD WHEELBARROW GARDEN PRIMITIVE YARD ART. Up for sale is this wonderful old wheelbarrow. We don’t know the age or its origin, but it looks old to us. It’s an old white and worn. There are a few hints of some green paint peeking through on the front board and a little on one side but it’s very light and mostly it’s old worn white. It measures 69.5 long WOW! X 24.5 wide at handles x 22-24 wide at front of the barrow and. 5 high at highest point. It’s been well used and loved over the years. The handles are worn, the sides have some scrapes, paint loss and wear. The inside shows some light use. The metal parts that hold the front wheel, the loops for the sides, and the band around the wheel have surface rust as you can see in the pictures. It also has square nuts on the parts where there are bolts to hold it together. We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. AAFA OOAK FOLK ART ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE GARDEN SEAT FROM DOORS ALLIGATOR BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind garden seat made from old doors. It’s an adorable seat with crackly / alligator paint, lots of patina and a great look!! It is blue with layers of paint so it has that thick, many layers look to it. The paint is really chippy and peeling and you should expect some more of the paint to come off in transit or when you pick it up. There are areas where there blue paint, then a little darker blue paint, then some greenish paint and some areas where there is very little paint with wood showing and just a little crackly paint. The seat itself is an old unpainted board with a little scalloped edge under the seat! The grain is all lifted on the wood board as it was likely outside for a long time and was not painted. It’s a very nice decorative piece for any Primitive collection! This would look great in a perrenial garden setting. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. The step measures 47″ H (to the back) x 30″ W x 18.5 D (at base). The seat is about 18.5 off the floor. We don’t know the age of this item. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. We will do our best to answer your questions. Painting is varnished so please excuse camera flash glare. Gorgeous original signed varnished oil painting on a circle made of wood, dating to 1996. Condition on front of painting is very good and clean, showing slight wear to the word ” Waiting “. The back of painting shows some wear, scratches, nicks and some glue marks (the wood may have had the glue marks before she started painting the painting) Front of painting does NOT have these and is again, in very good clean condition. Size is approximately 12 inches in diameter and 1/8 of an inch in thickness. The sides are nicely painting black and varnished also. Almost every artist I post for sales is in the top 1-3% for book mentions, museums that have their work, success in their style or era, and highest prices achieved. Lebduska is an interesting artist and I think the potential for his art exploding in value is possible, especially if there is a major museum retrospection which has helped many artists’ art prices and overall reputation get boosted. I remember years ago how Edward Hopper’s art went up many echelons as did Childe Hassam and other artists. I have been saving this one for quite a while. It was painted by one of the most inspirational artists that I have ever read about. I want you to research the amazing recovery that he made from the depths of despair about fifty years ago. Check Askart to see how many books he has been written about and the museums that have his art up to the year 2000, including the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, one great museum. The museums are throughout the United States, not particularly regional like many artists. His paintings in the 1930’s are credited with motivating Abby Rockefeller to amass her folk art collection. Lawrence Lebduska’s art style has been referred to as naive religious, folk, fantasy filled, symbolic, and bold in color. His animals, found in many of his paintings may be peaceful, playful or occasionally fearful or menacing. In this Garden of Eden painting(Wildlife) do you think that is a crown of thorns? If you investigate his art on Artvalue you will see why I think that. Is there a snake in that unique tree? I like it too much but it might need a home to be displayed. His “Cause of Struggle” is the best folk painting that I have ever seen. I rambled enough, read about one of America’s most amazing artists. This painting has a good sized image of 20″x22″ and is oil on canvas and signed, “Lebduska” in the lower right. I think his art might grow on you if you see more of his paintings. Many of the Haitian paintings that I have seen remind me of his art. It is framed, I never took digitals, and is in very good condition. If you are interested you will find it.
