Up for sale is a rare pair of antique original Mexican Folk Art retablo oil paintings on tin. They are painted with rich color and exquisite stylized detailing throughout depicting gorgeous figural scenes. Both are done on thin pieces of tin and are mounted to a period wooden frame. They are in nice antique condition and measures 18 1/4 inches by 12 3/4 inches framed. Both have some paint loss and dings as shown in photos. Some ware to the frame edges as well. Description & Condition: Up for sale is this pair of antique 19th Century. Folk art painting punched tin toleware wall sconces. They are decorated with flowers and vines with semicircle drip pans and are in good condition. They have holes along the bottom and were probably electrified at one time. They measure 17″ tall by 8 1/2″ wide and are probably the nicest pair I have seen. If you collect toleware don’t miss these! Please view all the photos and if you have any questions please ask. This offering is for a 19th century folk art stenciled tin tole painted tray. The stenciled decoration is wonderful depicting a man, a woman and a dog in an outdoor wooded setting with a house in the background. The tray measures app. 17.5″ by 21″ and the condition is outstanding with very light wear, crazing and fading to the colors. There is very very minor loss to the painted decorations and there are no dents, bends or rust. The decoration is bold and lively giving the tray a charming appeal.
