Antique Victorian Cottage Painted Double Full Bed American Country Folk Art. Antique Victorian Neo-Grec Solid Pine Full Double Bed circa 1865-75. Wonderful big arched crest on headboard and footboard and adorned by large oval Racetrack painted center panels and raised Black Walnut Architectural Relief. The headboard rest between two Gothic spires and the foot board features curved, rounded ends with a corbel facing the inside. Original matching side rails with great curvaceous flared ends. Incredible original grain painted wood grains and a solid substantial bed of quality craftsmanship, it has all the quality and beauty of the Victorian era. Victorian cottage furniture was made between 1850 and 1880. Cottage furniture, also known as country furniture, was often painted and decorated with hand-painted details. Overall measurements: 80 long x 56 1/2 wide. Takes a full/double mattress size. Condition: This is a vintage piece and as such displays a mild level of wear from age. Double Side African American Folk Art Original Painting Listed Antonio Romano

I love coming across these gems, especially when both sides are equally well rendered. I’ve been told this painting is by listed artist ANTONIO ROMANO and it certainly does look like his work. The name off to the side of the painting is Dime Cumbert II. This might have been the name of the person he depicted in the painting. I don’t see another name/signature. Antonio Romano is known for using recycled items to paint on, and in this case, he used the back of a really nice landscape, in its original frame. The paintings really speak for themselves… Measuring approximately 24.5″ x 19.5″ approx. 20″ x 15″ without frame. The landscape oil painting is not signed. A little chippy around the edges… Frame lines, but is doesn’t detract from the painting. In some cases, photos are enlarged to show detail. Please see photos for reference. Primitive Double Candle Wall Box in Old Seafoam Blue-Green Paint Best Folk Art

This is a wonderful double wall box in beautiful old sea-foam blue/green paint. The color on this box is to die for. The lower panel is wider than the top panel and the upper box is stepped back for easy access to the bottom box. The dimensions are 15″ tall x 10-1/2″ wide x 4 deep. The box is constructed of thin hardwood with tiny square cut nails and the sides are mitered into the back. This is a reconstruction made from old wood. The painted surface is old and original but the edges have been color matched. Please view all of the photos. There are bumps and bruises and few holes here and there.
