Early 1900s Antique ORIG Wooden Baltimore Trade Sign Folk Art AAFA Hand Painted
Very Rare and early trade sign. Came out of a baltimore basement. Double sided, hand painted store front sign. This is an early handyman sign. Paint is better on one side, but both sides have same writing. Artist name on bottom (see last photo) marked S. I haven’t done any research to see if he was a known sign painter in baltimore or not. Sign measures 43.5″ Tall x 23″ wide (at widest area) x 1.5 thick. Has very early cast iron mount in middle, may have been more originally but I haven’t seen signs of mounting holes to prove that. Sign has some wear, but overall no flaking to paint and very solid. Paint is great, and it is a true Baltimore City sign. I know the exact address where this sign was found, if you are interested to know I can provide information. See all photos, ask any questions. Will Package with care.
