Antique 1855 Folk Art Painted Norwegian Immigrant Domed Top Trunk Travel Chest

Antique dome top Norwegian folk art painted travel chest or trunk measuring approx. 43″ long x 22″ wide x 21 tall, in total. It has 3 colors of paint – blue, red, black and green and bears a name on the front and the year 1855. It has sustained some moves over the course of its life, and so there are small pieces of wood missing on the corners of the lid and back panel, scratches, wear to paint, some shrinkage related cracks. Most of this shown or can be seen in the photos(need more just ask). One of the large domed top nails came out and is in the storage tray in case you want to add it back. Square nail construction, sturdy and heavy piece that clearly was made to survive a voyage.
