Description & Condition: Up for sale is this antique 19th Century folk art oil on canvas painting of a young girl. She is wearing a white dress and is pointing a finger towards her face. This oval portrait is in fair condition with a few small punctures to canvas and the gilt wood frame has losses to the gesso. The painting measures 21″ by 17″ and frame 27″ by 23″. Yes the signature reads what I thought was HC Wyeth but it could easily could be NC Wyeth. If I had a letter from an expert in Wyeth I do think this work would be at the lowside 300K to 1/2 of a Million dollars. It’s measurements of the Canvas are approx 20.25″x 30.25″ framed:24″X 34″The frame is super nice but has several places where small pieces of gesso are missing. ANTIQUE SCANDINAVIAN NORWEGIAN FOLK ART HAND PAINTED ROSEMALING CHEST BOX. An antique Norwegian folk art small chest probably made as a wedding gift. Dating to the 19th century, the box is made from Nordic pine and decorated with’Os’ region rosemaling floral pattern on a white base edged with gold. The chest measures 8.5 x 4.5 x 5 inches. The original wire handle and metal lock remain in place but no key. The interior retains the original small compartment with painted lid, the retaining pin has become loose on one side. The box and painted surface shows the signs of age and wear as can be seen but remain in otherwise good overall condition. Please see my listings for details.
