Antique Oil Painting LANDSCAPE Folk ART Birch Tree TWIG Frame M. REINUS c. 1900s

Here is a very interesting antique painting on wood, framed with a handmade folk art twig/tree surround frame. The entire piece measures 12 1/8 x 15 3/4 ins. The painting si oil on wood, that is placed or was originally slipped into the bottom of this frame, and then screwed-in from behind. The painting is in good condition, only some minor wear to the finish. It is signed M. Reinus, who appears to have been a Russian artist that painted landscapes. The frame is so unique, unsure what tree this is from , possibly a birch tree to mimic/match the birch trees in the landscape. I would date this painting to the early 1900s time period. Antique Swedish Bonad Painting Christmas Signed Dated Kurbitz Dala Folk Art OLD

This remarkable 17″ x 54″ oil and watercolor on paper, laid to textile and mounted to Upson board work is signed and dated J Hernborg 33 lower right. Painted in the Bonad tradition dating back to the 1600s (and earlier), the 2 scenes depicted relate to Christmas: The adoration of the Magi and the Flight into Egypt. It includes lots of fraktur text describing the scenes and even has decorative end borders that have been folded over on the back. The work is very colorful, stable and detailed under a shiny coat of yellowed varnish (with age crazing). There is a vertical loss (from fold or crease) on the wise mans horse.
