Please see item description. ANTIQUE OIL PAINTING Welsh Romantic Primitive Landscape MONMOUTHSHIRE 1878. “A View in Monmouthshire” By Frederick Lena 1878. Highly decorative primitive school painting of a view in Monmouthshire. Provenance- Private collection, Parkside Villa, Suffolk. Size- 19.5 by 15.5 inches approx including frame. Medium- Oils on canvas laid to wooden panel. Frame- Antique wooden frame, some knocks and losses, offered free with the painting. Condition- We would be very happy to hang this one as found. It is in pretty good condition given its age. The item has been professionally cleaned though there is still some residual varnish browning visible. Light craqueleur and some verticle striations from the timbering beneath the canvas. Signature- Unsigned, later inscription on the reverse. Wonderful Original Painting by E. Halperin dated 1965 signed lower left on the painted canvas and on the back of the board as well Outside frame measures approx. 26-1/2 X 14-5/16 inches the board measures approx. 12 X 24 inches. What’s wrong with it? Painting is in pretty good condition some minor paint loss, dings, dents, chips, cracks, scrapes, scratches, nicked edges, dents, dings, smudges, and crackling and could use a good cleaning as well the frame has minor nicks, chips, dents, and dings, scratches, paint loss and needs a good cleaning as well. Vtg Barn Folk Art Rural Country Landscape Unsigned Original Acrylic On Canvas. The arch measures 16 in by 20 in. With the frame the measurement is 27.5 in by 23.5 in. It is beautifully framed and matted. The frame is 4 and 1/2 in wide and very dimensional. The color of the frame is brown wood with a 1.5 in ocher painted portion. It is such a beautiful piece of art I’m very surprised that it is unsigned or possibly the signature is under the matte.

Wonderful antique primitive folk art simple country landscape painted on wood board. This pastoral oil painting depicts a rural scene with brown cows in the fore ground with a road leading to a farm house on a hill. This piece of 19th c American folk art measures 14 1/4″ wide X 8 1/2″ high X approximately 3/4 deep. The painting is unsigned. Found in Shelby County Ohio many years ago. Very good antique condition. Several horizontal splits in the wood board. Also, some nail holes in the top of the frame, as pictured.
