Please Note this Sale is for Santa Riding Horse with Toys Only! Really neat hand signed & dated folk art work by Chillicothe Ohio master carver Mark Glandon. Great display size toy wooden Santa on horse bringing toys! The Santa is not attached to the horse and is individually carved of course. The basket with toys is detachable as well. Sculpture has a leather saddle with leather harness and bells, stirrups and hair tail. Basket with wood Teddy Bear & wood box. Lots of fun details to this work. Largely known for his Christmas Santa figures, Mark did/does various other works like rocking horses, animals such rabbits, birds and even a piece (Uncle Sam on a horse with an American Flag) that is in the Clinton Presidential library. We do not have extensive background information on the artist other than from online resources and what collectors have shared, but it appears Mark Glandon’s works gained prominence through the years (mid 1980’s-2000’s) at art, craft and folk art trade shows with people literally lining up early, just to get a chance at a piece. They are very nice solid works and have a real classic folk art appeal that shows why people love them. We have found his pieces from the mid 1980’s up into the early 2000’s, but not sure of his full production range up to recent times. We only gently dusted the item off but it is in great shape with only very moderate wear as with any displayed piece. Antique Wood Carousel Style Rocking Horse Folk Art Hand Painted Leather Toy VTG

Offering this beautiful old folk art wooden horse. It is styled in the way of an antique carousel horse but is more of a traditional rocking horse size. There are some small holes on the bottom, presumably from posts, and I have a handful of metal and wood pieces (handles and stirrups, presumably), but no base. The saddle parts are felt, the ears and reins are leather, and the mane and tail are fine yarn. It has age-related wear as shown including splits in the wood where the legs meet the main body of the horse, spotting on the legs/flanks, and natural age-related deterioration to the felt. This displays very handsomely as-is but could also make a nice restoration project. Great colors for use as holiday decor! Measures about 19″ long across the body, 35″ long from the front to back hooves, and 20 tall. This listing is for the Antique c. 1836 Horse Dog & Hunter Painting Attributed to Joseph Rhodes pictured above. A lovely circa 1836 sporting scene with a horse, dog, and hunter. This wonderful painting depicts a horse and small dog greeting each other next to a small pond while a hunter heads down a path in the background. The sky, with hues of blue and pink, is exceptionally painted with billowing clouds. The work is identified on the plaque as being titled The Gamekeepers Favourite. The plaque also mentions this work is illustrated in Sporting Magazine, April 1836 and was painted by J. Roads and engraved by H. The work is oil on canvas and is housed in an antique gilt wood frame. It appears to be unsigned. 12 inches tall by 10 inches wide (painting). 17 inches tall by 15 inches wide (frame). Condition : Very good overall antique condition. Scattered in-painting, primarily in sky (see photo under blacklight). Losses and wear to antique frame and identification plaque. Antique 1890s WOOD Hand Painted Carousel Carnival Circus Horse Folk Art

Antique 1880s – 1910s Victorian Era WOOD Hand Painted Circus Carousel Carnival Horse. This piece stands 52″ tall is 48″ long and 12 wide and weights approx 200+lbs. I believe to be something that drew people in to the carousel ride or side show attractions could even have been used as just a focal piece displayed at the entrance or center of the circus / carnival. The piece features glass eyes, a real horse hair tail, a 100% hand made painted and carved solid wood body, which was coated in a thin layer of a plaster type substance then completely hand painted. Condition is as seen there is cracking to the wood body due to age , no issues with it being fragile the cracking is just on the exterior, this piece is very solid and structurally sound. This is a nice original artist signed vintage oil painting of a man jockey and a horse harness racing (see photos). The painting is framed in a wood picture frame (see photos). The painting is painted on canvas covered artist panel. The artwork is signed by the artist Barnard with information written on the back identifying the location as Walnut Hills, Illinois (see photos). The painting is American in origin and it is painted in a Naive Folk Art Americana Primitive style (see photos and decide the age, the origin and the artist). The item in total framed measures about 1 foot 9 and 3/4ths inches high and it is about 2 feet 3 and 3/4ths inches wide. The painting portion without the picture frame measures about 1 foot 6 inches high and 2 feet wide. The picture frame has some scuffs, some scratches, some finish losses and other signs of wear. 18thC Hand Painted John Wesley Priest Horse Vertebrae PRIMITIVE FOLK ART Bone #1

This is an antique back bone / vertebrae that is from a horse or cow. It has been hand painted to look like the priest John Wesley. The paintwork on the face is very finely done. Naive folk art which are very collectable today… These were made to make fun of Methodist leader John Wesley and his new evangelical religion of the period. No maker’s marks etc. It is in collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. The paintwork is dirty and chipped in places, mostly on the very edges and corners where the bone is visible. Please see pictures for more details. 5 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches in depth.
