Listed American Artist, Betty Zoe Miller. She lived in the state of Virginia. Painting is watercolor and graphite pencil on matte board. Painting is 100% original to artist. Size i sapproximately 4 10/16 inches by 4 7/8 inches, with size of painting being approximately 3.25 inches by 3 5/16 inches. Condition is very good and clean overall, with painting not being evenly cut on edges, which is as acquired, and the utmost edges show slight wear from being cut from the matte board. Offering a wonderful, tiny, 19th century, 4 5/8″, oval Shaker “Harvard Band” wooden pantry / pill box with lid, in a wonderful, early, “dry and crusty dark green painted surface… The box has a wonderful worn surface and shows age appropriate wear. This tiny oval pantry box is a beautiful solid example, with a single elongated “finger” joint on the lid and box and retains the original copper tacks and wooden pegs securing the lid band and the overlapping on the box. A great “top of the stack” oval box! DIMENSIONS – 4 5/8″ X 3 7/16″ top, 1 3/4 high. Unsigned but attributable Hersey pantry box in original greenish paint; color is less vibrant than it appears in the photos and some have said it’s slightly blue-green. Maple and Pine, iron tacks, top and bottom fastened at four points only and with wooden pegs (Hersey attributes). Very minor wear, no cracks or repairs. It’s approx 6.25″L x 4.5″W x 2.25H. John Burr (1791 – 1857) a well known, well documented maker / cooper out of Hingham Mass. Century Primitive Box retains its original dark forest green paint. It measures 10″ long by 8″ wide by 5 1/8 tall and has small cut-nails and finally hand painted pin stripes. There is some light wear on the edges and a few small scattered marks to the finely crazed paint. Inside is nice and clean, plus it retains the original brass hardware.
